The past week or so Syri wakes up at 12am 2am, 3 4 5, you get the idea and just thinks its time to stay up! I cant put up with this shit, I never get any sleep....she isnt a newborn, shes 10 months old! I just dont understand

edit: I've pushed her bed time back, i've kept her up from naps. I just cant cope with only being allowed 2 hours sleep just because shes suddenly decided she doesnt need sleep anymore!

:hugs: My son is 8 months, and he still wakes in the night frequently. I think my best advice for you is to wear her out COMPLETELY, really make her be active during the day, get her out and about in the fresh air. Particularly if she's mobile, get her moving around ALOT. Then as it gets towards bedtime, start winding her down, relaxing bath, read stories etc. When she wakes try not to get her up, keep the lights low etc. Hope some of this was helpful.

She has pretty active days, we take half hour walks when its nice out and I always jump at the chance to go anywhere we can.. I'm beyond used to her waking up 3-5 times a night, but shes always gone back to sleep....now she just stays up and up and up!

There's a sleep regression at 9 months its probably that

Alexander does this but he is still opretty young and has colic.

Liv went through something similar. It was killer. And then I'd get yelled at cause my grandpop would come over in the morning and take her for a couple hours while I got sleep and my mom would yell that I was being lazy. Erm...no. I was up with a fussy baby all night. Go away. :grr:

Has she been introduced to anything with a lot of natural sugars? Sugar doesn't bother Liv, we all have a high tolerance for it. But my niece will go absolutely bonkers if she has anything sweet. (There are even certain fruits that can make her hyper!)

Emerald is 10.5 months and she still goes through stages of waking up all night long. But 7-8 months I think was the worst. Every single night she'd be up like every hour after 1am. Now its only like once or twice a night.

Last night was the first night in months Ive gotten a long stretch of uninterrupted sleep.

Could she be cold? I had Finn in jammies, a sleeping sack, and a fuzzy blanket. I thought he'd be too warm but I was in pjs, a fleece blanket and a comforter. Im pretty sure keeping him toasty is what helped him sleep.

I think I remember a few of the status's from back then! I cant really think of anything she had before bed that was sugary. She had grapefruit around lunch time but the last thing she had before dinner was chicken parm so prolly not sugar.
The finally went back to sleep at 5am then got up again at 7 o.o its almost 11 and she still hasnt napped! If my mom hadn't taken her for a few hours, id prolly be dead.

I'm positive she wasnt cold, she was actually sweating so i'd had to turn the fan up. I always leave it on 1 just for the noise. She's a really warm baby, not fever warm, shes just always warm. I've even gone as far as to letting her sleep in a bean bag because for whatever reason it helped her sleep for a while but now she doesnt even want anything to do with that.

Like Anna said there is a 9 month sleep regression, I've also heard some babies can get restless before hitting a big milestone.

I understand there is a regression, but i've never heard that babies should get up and STAY UP for 3 4 hours in the middle of the night and then still get up at 7am!

Noah did, his sleeping was horrible right up until he started sleeping through a few months ago

Hollie started sleeping 7 hours at 6 weeks and by 3 months was sleeping 12+ then at 6 months she decided she could wake up when she wants, we try to keep her up it dosen't work, the other day I went and woke her up from her 2nd nap at 7pm and kept her up till 1 tryed to put her to bed after a nice bottle and she stayed up till 4.

Tonight she woke up at 12 and stayed awake till 8am :dohh: I'd love her to STTN again even If its just once a week, I hate sleeping from 8am till 1pm and getting bugger all done!
