hey lovely ladies
Im going to have abit of a moan about my cycles, and wondered if anybody out there has/had the same thing and could offer some advice?? :flower:

I considered myself very fertile when trying for my first 3 years ago, even with hubbys poor sperm count and motility after vasectomy reversal, we were pregnant within 3months  then when trying last year, i fell pregnant on first month of trying...however i had a missed miscarriage and had to have the erpc procedure, and now since we've been trying again, my cycles vary, between 30-35days but my LP is always short. Ive been charting the last 3 months and ive had a 9day, 10day and last was an 8 day luteal phase, not good. After a day, my period has virtually stopped, thats not good either? From what ive read, it seems i could have a proestrogen deficiency, but Im worried it could be something more, dont know why, im just worried :nope:

Look forward to hearing from you xxx

I am sorry you are having difficulty...Have you thought of acupuncture? I did this when my cycles were wonky after my mmc and it did wonders to help me recoup and get back on my old schedule....Find one that specializes in Fertility though!

Our story is the same,... Pregnant after 3 months trying and found out that our bean stopped at 9 weeks (this was at 12+5 at our scan). Then very wonky cycles.... Had a chemical in the 5th cycle.... LP was between 8-10 days. I charted and my doctor after about 5 months said low progesterone..... We were sent to a fertility specialist but got our BFP 2 weeks before appointment. Started spotting at 5 weeks... Rushed to fertility specialist and started progesterone the next day after blood work confirmed low progesterone.... Everything has been perfect since!

Request blood work throughout your cycle I believe it's day 3, and then like 3 days and 5 & some other days post ovulation..... If progesterone is low there are many options.... Creams and suppositories are the most common.

Good luck!

ah thank you! Sounds like you've had a rough time of it, but i am glad to hear you are all sorted now! i will try and book an appointment today...i am already cd3 so ive missed that one :dohh: thank you so much xxx

Live in hope - since coming off the pill in May 2012 my cycles were identical to yours. It stressed me out no end so I know exactly where you're coming from.
I took a vitamin b complex which seemed to add a day to my LP every cycle and seemed to build up my lining a bit more so that after 4 cycles I finally got to put a "heavy" for one day during my period. I got pregnant that cycle but unfortunately it was ectopic.
After my body had recovered from surgery I started taking the vitamin b complex, vitamins C&E and got pregnant first cycle but had a mmc. Even though I didn't have a straight forward miscarriage I still blamed having a thin lining. I had a follow up appt after my erpc with a consultant and mentioned my concerns re thin lining.

She was fab and given that I was 8dpo at the appt she did an internal scan right there and confirmed that my lining was thinner than normal. She prescribed me 400 mg (or whatever the units are!) of progesterone. She told me there were no medical studies to back up that progesterone suppositories work but that i could have them if I wanted. Obviously I said yes! I started taking 2 days after I got my lh surge (I thought she was going to roll her eyes when I mentioned that I temped and did opks but she was keen to know what I had found and was really supportive)
Anyway. I started taking them the following cycle and got my bfp! I'm now nearly 10 weeks. Had a scan on Thursday and so far so good!

So... My cents worth is try taking a vit b complex ( ensure it has b6 and b12), vit C&E and book that appt with your doc/FS. Ask if they can do an internal scan post o (as late as your short LP will allow!) or the normal blood tests.
Also, if your cycle is like mine I was getting barely any/ no EWCM so I now swear by preseed!

Good luck - if your doctor is not supportive get a new one!! Let us know how you get on!

Ah I forgot about the B vitamins!!! I also took b complex and extra b12 I think. It did add a day or two. I was averaging 9 days but on the b complex I was getting 10-11 days. This is when we got our sticky bfp. I still needed the progesterone (which my ob later said is not linked to preventing mc but it worked for me).

thank you hilslo, your reply has been extremely helpful! Im sorry you had to go through what you went through before it all got sorted but im pleased you got your bfp and everything is going great
Im booked in the doctors for next week...i have had alot of pain today, excruciating in fact mainly coming from my left ovary which is where i had my ov pains from less than 2 weeks ago... if my period hadnt have come then i would still be only 12dpo.... why would my ovary be that painful i thought it was going to explode when i am nowhere near ovulation? Surely it cant be the vit bs? the only slight relief i got from the pain wS when i went to the loo for a wee which was an unbelievable amount of times....as im writing this im asking myself whether i could be pregnant?? My 1 day of period was heavy though....changed my tampon every 2 hours that day.....too heavy for implantation? IT was strange i didnt get AF cramps..i always usually do:shrug: my temps are lower than my post ov temp rise but they are still marginally below the coverline...whereas normally 3days into a new cycle temps have usually dropped quite substantially hey? i hope the doctor will sort me out...ive booked it with a doctor ive seen alot over the last 6months about my gallbladder and mmc and she has always been very helpful... Xx

Could be a cyst... I had an ovarian cyst, they can mess with your hormones.... And can be quite painful....very sharp.... Mine resolved on its own as most do.... Perfectly normal....I was scheduled for an ultrasound to check how big it was but it went away before the scan!

Glad you're booked into the doctor....

ah really...does this sound like the feeling... ya know that 'full bladder' feeling when you've been holding ya wee for ages you get that sharp pain across your bladder area, well it was that pain but loads worse! Id go loo and it would ease slightly then 10mins later it would be back to being as painful....a kid in my class had dropped some pencils and i couldn't even bend down to pick them up! I went to, then had to stop  had to unbutton my trousers too....in the background to this pain was a stabbing pain in left ovary...i was convinced it was the vits that i started yesterday but now im home and have been reading, im worried....:dohh: it eased and hasnt been painful since i went for a wee at about 2pm...i just feel full down there since and abit gassy  im going to keep checking online to see if i can get a cancellation appointment at the doctors for this week...cant wait until the end of next week...does that sound like what you had?...so coz the pain has gone now, does that mean its gone? Or will i have episodes of pain like this until it goes? Oh jeez...just thought i needed some vits to get things going... xxx

Ooooo, could be your colon. That was something they mentioned my pain could be. It's basically that you're backed up. Try some prune juice to see if it gets things going. Can feel very similar. But if you're gassy that would be my guess :)

I have a lifelong problem with .... constipation as i have the world sluggish bowels but the last 2/3 days ive been loads better? its not like anything ive ever felt in regards to my bowels....ive had alot of fruit these past few days so these gassy bouts may be down to that :haha: xx

Very true. My doctor told me that an irritated colon can be sharp severe pain but it's harmless. So basically as long as you're going it's all good :)
