I'm 4w1d and I'm having period like cramps....centralized in the center of my uterus and kind of a tugging/pulling sensation.

I've never had cramps with any of my other pregnancies, so I'm a little freaked out.

Can somebody tell me what's normal and what's not?

This is my first pregnancy, I am also 4w1d, and I am having similar cramps. Everyone I have asked said that it is "normal" and not to worry unless it is accompanied by bleeding, but I am still pretty nervous about it.

Period like cramps are normal as its your uterus stretching to make way for baby so don't worry! I tend to get a lot of gas cramps too!

Xx

Yay! That actually makes me feel better [that at least I'm not the only one getting a bit crampy!]

I keep thinking that AF is going to start at any second, but when I check it's just CM. Ugh. I can't wait to be over the stressful first trimester!

I also heard that period type cramps are normal, however I rarely get stomach cramps with AF so I'm not sure what they are supposed to be like, however with this pregnancy and my last I got lots of pains similar to those that I get with AF, mainly back aches/pains, but I also got lots of niggles and twinges in my pelvic region. I've heard lots of women describe the pulling/tugging sensation but never experienced it myself.

I found that for the first few weeks I was getting daily stomach cramps first thing in the morning, but this was always followed by a trip to the bathroom so I think it was a digestive issue.

I think that so long as the pains aren't really bad, that they're not significantly worse than you usually experience during AF, and so long as you don't have any bleeding, then it's pretty normal. Worrying, but normal!

I am having the same cramps....they were really bad last night...actually woke me up. No bleeding just fell like I am leaking. It has been so long since my last pregnancies I can not remember if I had them previously.

I'm 5 weeks and 3 days and I've been having cramps since ovulation. Sometimes they are bad enough that I get freaked out but I've learnt to just do my best to ignore it and remind myself I'm not in control of if the pregnancy is viable.

I've done heaps of research and its totaly normal unless they are serious (bent over with strained breathing etc) so don't worry. I had an ultrasound today to work out how far along I was and everything looks great so they can't be all bad.

I think you just need to try stop thinking about it because if you're like me you'll be losing sleep over every little cramp. Just remember most pregnancies end with a healthy baby :D

That's normal. I've had cramps with all 4 of my pregnancies. In fact, so much so that it feels like AF will show at any moment. No worries. :)

I have been crampy off and on since a couple days before I found out I was pregnant. My doctor told me to expect cramping, and it is only stretching. I still get them a couple times a week, actually right now. I have had some tugging and pinching also, mostly earlier in the pregnancy. I went to get an ultrasound because of the cramping and it was followed by a little blood when I wiped, but everything was okay. I have had 4 ultrasounds all together and everything has been fine with them. I know it is so hard not to stress about every tug and pull and cramp, but it is totally normal.

i know its normal to cramp with pregnancy and i have each time, but im still that panicky that i keep wiping below to see if im bleeding or spotting, i guess its cause of all the mcs but i dont want to loose this one!! i mean my tummy aches atm like period aches but all thats leaving there is lots and lots or white cm xx

I didn't felt cramps until I was 8 weeks pregnant and they felt like AF cramps, felt them at my lower abdominal area, but if you are not bleeding then you shouldn't worry, just make sure they aren't too severe.

I just started a thread about this last night. I am 4w5d and I have been feeling AF type cramps on and off since by bfp at 11dpo!

A couple of times they have been so bad that they wake me up, but then I end up just needing to go to the bathroom so it must be gas. Funny how gas never felt that way before the bfp.

Maybe occasional cramps are a good sign? Stuff is happening down there? :)

I am the same with mine being at night too, actually I only tend to get them at night and sometimes it wakes me up. Usually fades within 10 mins or so and it also seems to be has related... Xxx

I'm 4 weeks pregnant and the cramps are a bit overwhelming. They are actually worse than my typical AF cramps. But it's very normal. Things moving around and making space for baby. I find gentle romps with DH help a lot, at least enough that I can sleep for a bit!

I get these too mostly in the evening, sometimes they are more uncomfortable than other times. They also get a little stronger in bed. I find them kind of reassurring. I do get a bit worried if its one sided but im just hoping its nature doing her thing.

So is anyone getting cramps in the middle by there bellybuttons? mines low down.
