Im looking on ebay and theres electric manual, one with two bottle things etc

What should i look for in a breast pump? I hear a lot of talk about manual or electric, is there one that can do both incase i dont like a certain way?

Im only going to be expressing in the house (if i decide to bf) and freezing it for when i go out shopping or to an exam in uni. When im at my family or in the house i will be able to bf straight from the boob.

Is the pumps with 2 bottles better eg does it get u double the amount in one go?

I've got a manual pump and its worked well for me, not a clue how they compare to electric one though.

I know some of the girls on here prefer the electric ones so they can probably answer you question. I have a Tommee Tippee one and it works well for me (have only used it once though)

I have a Medela Mini Electric - its great value but a bit noisey. Saying that its the only one I've had so I dont know how noisey it is compared to others - I just read about the noise in reviews! :)

I was advised by a few friends to get a manual pump as they found they worked well. I have a tommee tippee breast pump and it was really reasonably priced. Apart from that, I can't offer any more because my LO isnt here yet...

Good luck finding one :hugs:

I personally get on a lot better expressing manually rather than using a pump. I don't get a lot any way but I get twice the amount by hand than I do with the pump, and it's less sore as well.

Electric pumps are so much better...i hated pumping manually...my hands were killing! x

I started with the Avent manual. This worked well, but I found that the electric Medela mini worked soooo much better! It does it in a fraction of the time. I'm so glad I got it. Everyone is different though. You may go through a few before you find one that suits you.

I am lucky that a friend has given me an electric one but at the weekend I thought I had broken it so quickly went out and bought another. I got the electric Medela one from Boots and there was 25% off all Medela breast pumps so it was a bit of a bargain. I think the one I was given is working again now so will probably take mine back!

i have the tomme tippee manual and i thought it was fine, its squeeky but does the job well, and at the start when your boobs are massive and hard and sore..it eases the pain lol whereas hand expressing like that felt like punching a bruise

im a dairy cow and express either by hand of using a manual pump. my milk just seems to pour out of me  i think it all comes down to personal preference hun and how often u are going to express x

I have the medela swing (electric) pump and I'm really happy with it. I have expressed manually by hand, but it took a long time and was tiring.
