What sorcery do I need to keep my maternity jeans up?

There must be a knack to this, right?! I see loads of people wearing maternity jeans who aren't also wearing braces to keep them hoisted or rocking MC Hammer style crotches.

Have tried ASOS side band jeans and all the sizes were massive on the leg and looked ridiculous, and kept falling down with or without belt. I've tried Topshop under bump jeans which fit nicely but were actually painful in the later stages of pregnancy as the elastic cut in, and they still didn't stay up. I've now found some fantastic Mamalicious jeans which go over the bump and are incredibly flattering and fit me well. But I have to pull them up every ten seconds, no exaggeration! I bought a size 10 at first cos it said go for normal size and they were very loose so I swapped them for the smallest size which fit better but still loose enough to fall down. And I'm not even small, just normal sized

I have a relatively small bum and skinnyish legs (in comparison to the rest of me) and a huuuge bump. Am I just too big for jeans? I've also tried non-maternity jeans and trousers with a bump band and this looks fine but they fall down too :dohh:

What's the trick to it?! One of you must know??

I don't know! And I've resorted to just leggings. However your post title made me laugh out loud!! Now my husband thinks I'm crazy and I blamed it on the lack of sleep due to peeing every hour.

Good luck!!!

I need to know this to!! Mine fit fine out of the dryer.... Til I walk around for 10 minutes and then its an impossible task to keep them up, and no matter the brand I always end up with fabric pooling in the crotch area. I have a normal sized bump (as normal as being 39wks along allows haha) , but I have a small waist, big hips, butt and thighs. I have this one pair that looks AMAZING on me but sadly the needing to be pulled up thing is worse, and not worth it. These dont have crotch issues like others but and fit great but somehow they just will not stay up. And I got mine in my size, and two sizes smaller because the ones in my size were way to loose.

I've given up and just wear pj pants at home, and when I go out I wear skirts, dresses, anything to keep me out of jeans haha and I hate dresses and skirts so that says alot.

Same problem here! Only 1 pair that don't fall down but they don't really fit comfortably anymore (they dig in ). Also annoying that when the jeans start sliding down they pull underwear down with them. I feel like I'm constantly trying to pull my clothes back on and try not to look scruffy.... While my 2 year old wipes his mucky face on my top, I just look a mess lol !

Same here. I bought pants from The Loft and they fit perfect after just being washed but start sagging throughout the day. The only pair that fit wonderfully are from The Gap and they have the side stretch bands. They don't slip at all, but they cost $70/pair which is way too expensive for me since I won't be wearing them very long.

I also have this but it's only the bum/back that falls down. The last pair which are exactly the same as these fit perfect but they split in the crotch area so I bought the same ones and they just don't fit the same! But I refuse to buy anymore maternity clothes! Xx

I have this problem too! I also hate how they pull your underwear down. :(

I have tank tops that are tight (not uncomfortable, fitted) that seem to be made of the same fabric as the bands of the jeans. They are nice and long and they really seem to help to keep my pants up.

This top if you live in Canada https://www.bootlegger.com/long-lac..._9448LONGLACESUM15_colour=AQUA#start=37&sz=36

I've given up and just fold them down like a saggy belt thing :haha:

Magic? Dresses ;)

I carry low and pants of any kind bother me really. I have some secret fit belly jeans I wear to Dr appointments (since we do the doppler), and that is about it. They stay up pretty good! I have worn them through two pregnancies. But pants and underwear really bother me no matter what, when I sit down, there is just no room for them to bunch up in there as I'm carrying soooooo low. I wear dresses and stuff all the time.

I'm constantly hoiking mine up too! Drives me batty. Sorry no advice but it seems it's pretty common. I'm hoping for some nicer weather do I can get some maxi dresses on!

Interesting and funny thread!

With my DD I do not remember having any issues keeping maternity jeans up and lived in H&M mama jeans.

I have the falling down issue this time round and only more recently. I'm now 33w and had same prob for around 3-4w.

Is it do with second timers? Different genders maybe?

Who's carrying what gender and is it your first?

First baby here. I think he's just so big now that nothing will stay over that enormous belly for more than a minute or two.

Second baby and boy (first also a boy), but I had the same problem the first time too! I do live mostly in dresses but I have a few tops I wanna be able to wear and I can't find a decent maternity skirt to pair with them so jeans seemed a best bet. Plus Hull is really windy and not being able to go a day without flashing granny pants that I've put on over my tights cos they too fall down just seems sooo undignified.

Thanks for the tip about the camisoles, I'll try that!

Mines second baby and a boy I'm all out front this time and lack hips and bum but have a decent size bump so think that may be what the problem is! X

Skirts and dresses aren't an option for me yet :( It's snowing here today. Ugh!

This is my second baby. Girl this time. I'm carrying her much lower than her brother but I had the same problem with him. I don't have hips or a bum in general and carry all out in front so there's nothing to help hold my pants up, pregnant or not. :haha: I'm just used to pulling my pants up!

I have been lucky enough to wear all of my non maternity pants with a ponytail holder keeping them together. I cover the opening with a maternity band. I do find that I am pulling my pants up and they look a little saggy in the butt. I CANT WAIT to wear my pants normally again!

I don't know the gender but this is baby number 2 for me and I also do to remember this bring an issue the first time round!

I have the same problem! I've all but given up on wearing anything other than maxi dresses at this point now that the weather is turning hot.

I only buy over the bump style and fold the band down is it sits sort of under my bump and wear a maternity shapewear singlet over the top to hold them in place, only combo that works for me!

First baby here and also carrying all out front with a small bum and legs. I gave up on pants a while ago. Dresses over leggings and tights all the way, and PJs at home (but not even those stay up).
