Please help... I'm sure this was discussed somewhere, so if you could send me to a link or website this would be fine.

I am almost 37. This was my first pregnancy and first miscarriage (two weeks ago; the baby died with it was 8 weeks).
I had surgery for endometriosis last July, and know that I have problems with low progesterone.

What tests should I ask my doctors for, and when?
I know some of them had to be done within the first six weeks since the miscarriage?

I'll be very grateful for your help.

So sorry for your loss.

Sadly tests are only usually carried out after the third pregnancy loss. I had the sticky blood one done after my second pg loss and that was because I lost at 18 weeks. The majority of tests were done after my third loss.

Yea, I do not think they would do any tests for having only 1 m/c. Sorry for loss. xx

Like another user said, tests are usually carried out after the 3rd miscarriage which I personaly think is disgusting.

Sorry for your loss xx

Thanks for the answers, even though this only makes me angry... I actually knew before i got pregnant that i have low progesterone. Told the doctor. He said: i don't care about your progesterone at all. After you miscarried a few times, we'll look at your progesterone levels. Well, he was right. I owe him my first miscarriage.. but looks like this first one is not enough... switched doctors to those who practice NaPro technology... anybody here as a NaPro doctor?

I am so sorry for your loss :(
I'm currently going through something similar - I miscarried in January at 13w 4d and had been waiting for ages to hear back about the post mortem results, got them the other week and it was a severe chromosomal abnormality - which if I am the carrier I have been told I can try for children but the chances are none of them will ever make it. After telling me this I was asked if I would like an analysis done. The Dr said they might not to it because of it just being one of the parents blood. So now I'm stuck in limbo - have to wait to see if they do the test and if they do wait for the results and if they don't I have to wait till I get pregnant again and know the possibility I will have to go through this nightmare again :(! It's not fair that you have to fit a certain criteria to be able to have life changing tests done - which may have a positive or negative result at least you would be able to know and deal with it instead of being in limbo!

Tysia am sory for you loss. I would say there is no harm in asking, the fact that you have already had surgery, low progesterone might mean they think tests would be beneficial?

I am very sorry for your loss. I have 3 sons 20,17 and 11. I am 40 and this pregnancy was a total surprise and it was my little girl, but I lost her to what they think was Trisomy 18, I should get the results within a week. If I decide to get pregnant again and that is a BIG if I would definitely do the CVS testing. The last thing on my mind would have been a chromosomal abnormality , by the time I found it I was to late, I was 18 weeks. CVS can be done at 10 weeks. They wont test you for anything unless it was multiple miscarriages or unless you had an abnormality of some sort . I would talk to your doctor and ask him/her if there are any specific tests you should get for any problems you have had/ I am very sorry and I am sorry i don't have the info for you. All I know is about chromosomal abnormalities  :hugs::hugs::hugs:

I just had a MMC earlier this week, this pregnancy being conceived straight after a chemical pg. I had asked my doctor if he would be doing any testing since it was my second miscarriage in a row, and he said no, mostly due to the fact that my two miscarriages were very different. It was the answer I expected, so I guess we will just have to hope that my next pregnancy goes smoothly.

Like other users have said, tests arent usually carried out until you've miscarried 3 times, although if you go private or if you try to conceive for a long amount of time, they will then start doing tests.

Hi sweets - i'm 37 also - and just suffered my first mc. Never had kids before - and i've never known of an issues in my genetics or whatever. I just wanted to chime in and say that i've been going thru a lot of stress thinking that maybe there is something wrong with me - but everytime i broch this subject with my OB he tries to set me straight and say that that our bodies are doing something that is perfectly normal - a mc is typcially the natural way of our bodies getting rid of the baby that couldn't make it or didn't grow right. I Guess all i wanted to say is try not to blame your own body. Concentrate on healing and moving on - ur body is probably doing exactly what it is supposed to. By the sounds of things - they aren't worried about you yet. i wouldn't worry until they are worried... it is still a shite thing to go through. My heart goes out to you and i'm so sorry for your loss!!! xo

are you in the uk or the states? i live in the US, so i'm not sure how it is elsewhere. but, i know it is common to be blown off for your first few losses. i just had my second loss. i called a reproductive endocrinologist and was told i don't need a referral and they just let me set up the appointment. it seems that my insurance will cover it too. you might want to look around for a specialist. with only one loss, it might be overkill, but since you are over 35 i'm wondering if they might see you anyway. since your chances of having chromosome issues rise after 35 as well, they might just chalk it up to that and not want to do any testing. they can test your progesterone right around ovulation though and tell if it will be a problem. you might be able to talk your regular OB into doing this.
