hi ... just wanted to know how your .GP dealt with infertility and what tests you had ! I'm a bit speed as my .GP does not seem very helpful .. I have had 2 .mc around the 5 week mark and trying to conceive for two years now .. .GP said I am ovulating or I wouldn't get pregnant . he said he would refer me after getting frustrated with him telling me to keep track of my cycle which I have for two years. he is giving me a blood test for 21 days which I had last year after seeing another doctor when he was away .. I feel he is fobbing me off all the time

My GP did an ultra sound becuase I was having cycle issues. She also did a few blood tests and put me on Metformin. She didn't help me past that. I went to my OBGYN and he did more blood work, another ultrasound, sergery, and then Clomid with 21 day bloods. He has now refered me to a RE becuase that was all my OBGYN could do and I still wasn't ovulating. My appointment with the RE is today so I am sure a lot more test will be ordered.

I've had several CD3 and 7DPO, testosterone, TSH (thyroid - which i have every year anyway as i've had a hemithyroidectomy) Glucose, blood count... all sorts. Recently had CD3 and 7DPO done again! Along with rubella and prolactin (which i think i've had done only once before about 10 yrs ago)

I'm back under my FS and waiting on the appointment, i'm then going to have a HSG done finally after all these years!

Hi Candy, can he refer you to a fc? Have you asked? My GP did day 21 progesterone, DHEAS, testosterone and vit D. All three were low and vit D was terrible. Then after that she referred me to a fc and they did 2-CD3 FSH/estrogen tests, 4-CD21 progesterone tests, and u/s for antral follicle count and and HSG to see if the tubes were open.

I hate hearing when doctors piss around, it's an already frustrating situation compounded by a money-sucking professional with his thumb up his butt. :hugs:
I have ALL women docs and they're great. dentist, GP, naturopath and fc specialist.

I had to write a letter to my GP to get in as she wasn't accepting new patients and I just wrote my naturopath in order to get in next week otherwise it would have taken till Oct 21. She's going to test me for autoimmune dysfunction before Nov IVF. I only sent her the email yesterday at 4pm and I'm already booked in for Sept 4th. I wrote my FC specialist lady in July stating that I was dreading running out of time with my fertility and she agreed to bump my IVF up. Not sure if female doctors are simply more responsive then men but one thing's for sure I'm just a little pushy when it comes to my health, in the end it seems I usually get what I need in a timeframe I'm generally happy with. The IVF could have happened sooner but then I wouldn't be able to investigate this autoimmune stuff.

My two cents is that lady docs seem to be specfreekingtacular and push lady until your satisfied!

I am so glad that your lady docs are working out. However I must say I went to a lady doc and she was a B****. I now have all male docs, dentist, obgyn, and my RE. They have female nurses who I could really live without, but the docs are AMAYZING! I think it depends on the person.

True true! It's always a crap shoot.

Im feeling as if my doctor here in the state is Fing me about. He put me on progesterone and vitamins and asprin and said it will happen. This is over a yr now. I know something else is wrong more then before but he wont test me. I really think im going to try and get ahold of his partners and see if they will further test me. He says my tests from yrs and yrs ago say nothing more is wrong with me but that was yrs ago and a baby ago, yrs ago. How can those tests say anything about now?? Im so heart broken at this point especially because in the states most times if your insurance doesnt cover it and most dont you need to pay fertility out of pocket and who can afford that! Sometimes we know our body hell of alot better then the doctors. I mean who here just knows when something is wrong? I know I do.

Can you try another doctor? I hope all the women on this board who are having issues with US health care are concerned enough to vote for the party who don't just want healthcare for the rich. Citizens over there need to wake up and smell the rich getting richer.

Hi hun things here in the uk take forever don't they. We have had 2 lots of cd3 and 7dpo bloods done and hubby has had his spermies checked out. We go back next thurs to see our gp to discuss results and I really have no idea what else or where we go from here. She did say we will do another round of bloods because they like two sets. I have no idea who they are but am praying it will be a fertility specialist of some description. All in all to get this far has taken since April so god only knows how much longer. Xx

Well me and other half have been quite lucky, went to my doctor(in uk) and she was really nice ;-) we explained it had been 9 months at the time and she started the ball rolling then;-) she asked me to have some blood texts done (for ovulation) had to do this 3 times but I have longer cycles so my first one was done day 18, but I usually ovary day 18, that result came back crap, so she did a day 21 but levels were only marginally higher, then she said to me what day would you like the next one on?? And I said day 26, and that's the highest level progesterone I got. She also asked oh to go to his doctors, and they sorted out 3x sa test, but the doctors give you the sample pots but we had to run them down to the hospital so they could be tested, that wasn't done at the doctors, so luckily his swimmers were already being tested by the best people, coz after all that happened it had been 11 months so she said she had sent my and oh details off for a referral to the fs ;-) and my fs is male and he is amazing, he does everything with you, appointments, internals, surgery and then follow ups to the surgery, couldn't ask for anything more really....other than a bfp....lol so even though it seams like a lifetime trying our journey has been done in a timely-ish fashion.
Were back end of oct for a lap and dye operation done by my fs so should give us some answers 😁
