Since my supply regulated I haven't been able to pump very much milk (I just have a manual pump). I got a huge freezer stash in the first three months so I don't really need to pump, but sometimes I do it just for my comfort. My LO prefers to nurse on the right side during the day (at night I can switch her from side to side no problem) so I will often pump out the left side after she has finished on the right. I usually only get about 1 oz. And I don't pump every day so sometimes I will only get 2 oz over a course of 3 or 4 days. What do I do with this milk? Do I freeze each oz I pump? I don't want to dump it down the drain but I don't really have any use for 1 oz of milk. LO does not take a bottle well, we have ordered her a cup so once she learns to use that and we start offering her finger foods I guess I can put those small amounts of milk in the cup for her to practice with. What do you all do with small amounts of expressed milk?
I should add that my milk tends to taste soapy after a day or so in the fridge and LO does not like the soapy taste, so if I were to use this milk for freezing or give it to LO I would need to scald every oz of milk I pump, which seems like a lot of work for 1 oz of milk!
