Help! I need ideas! He has a lot of pink hand me downs from his sister, but I want to buy him some things that are just for him. What do/did your 8 month olds enjoy playing with?

I'm not going to bother getting my son anything for Christmas. He'll be 9 months old. He doesn't know the difference at that age.

I plan on getting our daughter a teether of some description - maybe a Sophie giraffe :) And some clothing that we would have bought her anyway, and maybe a book.

My daughter is only 6 months but things weve thought about are - ball pit, bubble machine, bath toys , books, light up balls. Hope this helps? X

I'm not going to be buying much for DS but I've got him a beatbo and a few small things like stacking toys, board books and soft books... I know my mum is getting him on of those push along walkers.

My DS is getting a walker with the blocks in an activity table, ball popper, bubble machine, ball pit and balls, books and my mum has got him a convertible rocker and ride on thing. His favourite toys at the moment are his xylophone with piano style keys and his fisher price laugh and learn piano and his jumperoo. Also pretty much anything he can pick up bang around in stuff and throw lol.

I've got Saskia a few bath toys, some books, and some toys and clothes for when she's a bit older x

Dominic has so far...

• A puppet
• Clothes
• a little pull along dog toy, I figure he'll be able to use it in a few months
• a musical book that sings nursery rhymes
• some big plastic building blocks
• some duplo type lego
• some maracas

Still to buy
• one of those flashy jiggle ball things
• a ride on car thing that converts into normal toys and changes to suit his age
• books

You know me and my unhealthy obsession with my Amazon prime ;)

Honestly Debbie, right now he will just like the box and paper. But these are good that Keira will enjoy ( and you know that what he gets is really for her to play with too) and he will like them soon enough to too... Just my two cents. Rylan like music and lights, he bops around and rocks and squeals and would love this stuff....

Thanks, Jules! I was going to ask you on FB, but you answered me here instead. :winkwink:

My 8 month old has loads of hand me downs so isn't getting much but his list so far consists of:
Interactive baby Mickey teddy
Leap frog baby laptop (his 2 brothers are both getting leap frog toys so this was just the baby equivalent and it was a buy two get 1 free)
Beatbo (this is mainly for me I think he's so cute!)
A bath toy
Christmas outfit
Christmas socks
First Christmas teddy

Of all the toys he has at the minute my lo still likes playing with his teething toys and teddies that light up and flash when you press buttons - just the simple things

My little one will be 8 months at Xmas. We have got him a shape sorter, stacking cups, an O ball rattle car thing, a Melissa and Doug puzzle that makes the sounds of the animals when you put the pieces in and a gadget set that has keys, a remote and toy phone. We also got some things from baby sensory for his stocking like a mirror, foil blanket, streamers and a bubble gun. Oh, some books as well and a Whoozit photo album as we have family that lives far away and I thought it would be nice for him to look at pictures of them.

Ds will be 11 months at Xmas and he's getting his first shoes, skittles, buckle toy, gadget set- he loves remote controls and keys- I'm sure he will ignore this though and want the real thing instead! Walk along dog that barks and walks, pop up books, bath toys, toy telephone. We have all the usual things like stacking cups, hoops, Lego etc having a 3 year old. Other ideas that DS loves is the walk along activity centre, vtech crawl and learn bright lights ball. That's all I can think of at the moment!
