Hey ladies!

I am trying to find underwear for under my dress on the big day! Is it just me or does everyone have a hard time trying to find anything thats suitable?!!!

And whats the best way to go about it? Get fitted etc any shops/websites or suggestions... my dress is strapless/a-line full length

:hugs:

when i was picking for under my dress i found a nice white corset in a wedding collection would somthing like that go under your dress?

My dress is strapless too :)

I'll be honest here.... go for practical and comfy over sexy!

You can always change before your wedding night but the last thing you need is something thats not comfy on the day.... nowt worse than a bride picking her knickers out of her ar$e!.

As for a bra, again go for what every suits your body shape and dress.

I know a bride that spent £100 on a corset which was supposed to be fitted to her and it ruined the shape of her dress once she was in both and in the end she took it off after the service as it was so uncomfortable.

I went out a bought a lovely corset, knickers, the works but found that when I wore it under the dress for my final fitting it was too uncomfortable due to my dress having boning in the top. So I went braless and had a good old pair of comfy knickers on.

At the end of the night I went back to the room before my hubby with one of my bridesmaids and she helped me out of my dress, I had a quick freshen up and got changed into my corset, then waited for hubby to return. He knocked on the door and his face was a picture : )))))

thanks for the advice ladies!

some of those corsets lesleyann suggested are beautiful !! and the bra and matching knickers set buttonnose are lovely too! ...mindy_mini!! :haha: it has been only too often i have been plucking knickers from my bum i would hate this on my wedding day!!
my dress is corsetted so i wasnt sure if i could go for a corset underneath too??! as r&g you said it wasnt comfortable? i could get away with going bra-less - my boobies arent overly big and my dress seemed to keep them in check on my first fitting so just seamless knickers might be an option! and it will save money too :)

:hugs:

If your dress is corsetted and boned well you shouldnt need a bra!

Just make sure it is boned well!!! my aunt did my alterations as she is a dress maker (she was going to make my dress but i fell in love with one and HAD to have it) and the first thing she did with my dress was take the boning out and re-do it as in her words it was "crap" but by time she'd finished I didnt need a bra for my DD boobies

Im contemplating not even wearing a bra tbh, since im having such a struggle finding a "nice" bra in my size that wont show underneath my dress, because of the size it needs to be, they are hardly disceet

I had an Elle Macpherson strapless bra which fitted beautifully. I also wore white lace French knicks as I didn't need to worry about lines showing etc.

What I will say is wear comfy! Ask a very good friend/mum etc to have a little bag with nice undies in which you can change in to later on but you will need help.

Also, make sure you wear comfy knicks. I always had to have one of my friends with me whenever I needed the loo, they had to hold my dress up whilst I pee'd, hehe but the knicks had to also be easy to pull up, it takes 2 in a wedding dress. If you have to wear big pants, practice in them!

thanks for the tips mrsvenn! and congrats on your pregnancy - a little baby girl ! how nice :hugs:
