Hello ladies i was wondering if anyone from the uk when being referred to a nhs fs, do you have to pay for the dye through tubes and the lap?

my appointment is in sep, but i'm not sure what to expect?

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you ladies :flower:

Hi laustiredttc - I was referred to a FS through my GP on the NHS last December, they performed a number of tests on my partner and I, including the HSG that you referred to and we haven't had to pay for any. We were also entitled to a round of IVF for free - however I know it is different all over the country when it comes to IVF. I am sure all the testing is always free though (unless anyone else in the UK has any other experiences).

I think it depends how much money your PCT puts into fertility but I don't think you'll have to pay for it :) I'm paying for one but that's because they're not offering me one because of my OH's sperm count (cos they're arseholes! :haha:)

are you nervous about the appointment? I had my first one last month and I was terrified because I didn't know what to expect but it's not that bad :)

I've had some lovely ladies tell me about their experience and it has made me feel better about it. I am a little nervous though. Secretly i'm hoping that i get pregnant before i get to the appointment. Fx and we will see. Hopefully also the tests are free as we don't really have the money for things at the moment. I have just been made redundant, which i thought well at least now i can get pregnant and enjoy it, but so far no such luck. Onto the jobsites i go :(

sorry about your job :( :hugs: if it's through the NHS I'm sure you won't have to pay :) you never know, people always tell those stories of people who got pregnant before their FS appointment! :)

I would just be on :cloud9: if that happened to me. Fx and maybe my wish might come true this month.

i know its such a selfish thing to say but i really need it this month. I'm standing at the edge of depression and its slowly weaving its dark arms around me. I just need this sooo much. Thank you girls for the support, i reaally appreciate it all :)

laustiredttc I am sorry to hear about your job. I was made redundant as well - it was so so stressful and I really feel for you :hugs: I hope something turns up for you, baby job or both :) You will get through it though hun, its the bad times that let you know what you and your OH are made of :)

To repeat what others have said I think it should be free. Mine was. I found it quite uncomfortable but the staff were so lovely and the x ray lady even held my hand :) They say you are more fertile the 3 months after so even if it doesn't happen for you beforehand there is a chance that having this 'clean out' will help things along a bit. Good luck xx

Hey smiler, thankyou so much. I'm trying not to let it all get to me and think of the positive things in my life. Some days are harder than others but i will keep ploughing on.

Fx crossed we all get to that magical place of :bfp:

Sending you amazing ladies lots of :dust: and a very big thankyou for all your support :)
