Hi all, just wondering how much you all budget for presents and food? We normally try to do christmas on a budget but this year have decided to spend more than normal. Our budget looks roughly like this:
Presents
MIL: £120
FIL: £50
Nephew: £25
Grandparents x2: £30
Bro: £10
Mum: £40
Friends: £40
LO: £250
DH: £500

Cards and wrapping stuff etc: £15

Food over festive period
£200

Decorations
I want to by a light up reindeer for the front garden: £70
real tree for front of the house: £20

Can't think of anything else at the moment

My budget is small lol. OH and I don't usually buy for each other, but for the kids around $250 each, and around $25 per person, like Mum, dad, etc... unless I see something I know they would like, or we all pitch in on something.

I'm not sure until the wedding is fully paid for. Food probably £30, decorations we have already and I think my sister and her oh are going halves with me on prezzies so it's cheaper and I'm not stressing with the wedding coming up as well xx

Dont really have one? We have money saved and I am to sensible to spend to much (lol) I just buy as and when. The only rule we have is everything is paid outright, no over drafts, no credit, no catolouges! xx

for the past couple of years we have set a limit of £15 per adult and £20 per child

Little Man doesn't really have a budget at the moment, we just buy what we think he will like

then we set a budget for each other, usually around £50/60

i don't really have one

we tend to spend £10-£15 per adult,
those with children get less spent on them

children are between £15-£20 depending
on the age, we have alot of children to buy for
so this racks up nicely!

emily we don't really have a set amount, we just
buy what she needs and a few big items, she gets
plenty of presents from family so we just stick
to practical things

and me and oh don't buy for eachother, never have

We always set a budget and go over it. This year we are trying to cut back but it is still close to £1000 without food, decorations etc.

£300 for OH.
£100 for LO (he has far too much stuff already, so we're going to buy toys/stuff he'll grow into).
£60 for Mum & Dad.
£50 for Gran & Granda.

OH sorts out his family's presents.

And we will need to try and fit a tree in somewhere and unsure about food as this is my first Christmas in my own house xx

:haha: whats a budget ?

but for my siblings i send about 20 dollars each(four siblings), for my mom about 50-100 dollars and for quintin normaly about 100-150 dollars.

Hallie is about £350 presents, £300 Christmas/Boxing day clothes
Darren about £300 including his birthday (xmas eve)

Everybody else gets done in about £150 thanks to the gem that is boots 3 for 2.

We don't buy specific Christmas food shopping as we are usually out from Christmas Eve to new years eve visiting & what not while everyones off work so get fed by family or meals out.

We dont really have a budget, we spend about £200-£300 (including stockings) on the girls depending on how many of the things they want i can get in the sales as that helps lower costs BUT we ask family to give the girls next vouchers or money not toys for xmas and then i use this to put towards their clothing.
We spend £100 on each other.
Our family have a rule which is: WE DONT BUY FOR THE ADULTS we only do the kids which we spend £20 on each.

We dont have a budget, we just buy as and when. I have an idea of what the boys will be getting and so far it is about £400 each (doesnt include christmas clothes, shoes, jim-jams and new duvet covers, they are little extras that are not classed as presents). OH and I have set a limit of £150 each. After that we just buy what we can afford.

Hm a lot. Last year I think it was roughly :

Summer - £150
OH - £200
Me (from OH) - £200
My family - £160
OH's family - £180
Others - £80
Decorations - £30
Food etc - £50

So that's 1070! (I think)

This year will probs be roughly the same, if not more :)

I have £400. Thats for everyone. Kids get £150 each and me and OH don't buy fir each other. So £100 between everyone else :flow:

god know what mine is! lol
no more than a tenner most likely on adults, my lo is probly around 50/60 - dont really have a clue what i'll get her anyway! shes already got so much!! Probly around 150 on presents, my and oh don't buy each other plus double that on food - id rather have lux food than gifts lol

gosh, i'm really surprised at how bit some of your OH budgets are, lol we just pick each other up something little, i suppose we just see it as a "kids only" holiday, :/ i don't buy much for Adults, :/ my mum and dad will get a gag gift for 20 max! my brother gets nothing as he is an adult lol same for oh's sisters and family... feel like a right barr humbug after reading some of your lists haha. x

Course that doesn't stop me asking for lots for xmas! haha but the "plan" is to not spend alot on each ova :) x

Going on last year, well over £2k :dohh: we earn more now, and Liam isn't here so I guess it'll be cheaper in that dinner will be at my mums.

I put my order for food on waitrose at the beginning of November, which is normally £200ish... Mum will pay most this year though as she will buy hers elsewhere.

Presents... Well I go mad. About £200 on Liam, £100 mum, £50 sisters and Harrison.. Well, There's no limit to his really apart from 'space at home'.I have a list of things for him but I always find more!

Decorations won't cost much, our tree from last year is still brand new :) I'm buying presents for soldiers this year too so that will bump it up a bit.

Wow we spend very little compaired to everyone else. Oh and I have agreed on around £50 each and most of the bits we have both asked for are useful rather than things we want. Lo I am buying as we go but wont be more than £100, there are a couple of kids in the family who will get £20 max spent on them, my little bro and sis and ohs sis will get £10 each and some smellies, other adults will just be getting token smellies/chocs.Food wise we will just do our usuall weekly shop plus buy a turkey, decorations we will use from last year. I would say christmas for us will be £400 at the max.

We have £950 for everything, presents, wrap, cards and food!

Sophie and Sid will have £150 each and we will share the rest out.

A lot of our family have said they don't want to do presents this year. Makes me sad although i understand
