Hey girlies,

Im new here :blush:
So much to take on board! :wacko: Just wondered what your one best piece of advice would be?

Defo to track your cycle so you have an ideas when you are most fertile!

Try to relax and enjoy BD'ing at all times of the month not just when you 'need' to - dont want it to spoil your sex life.

Has anyone used any good but cheap OPK's??

...and also, trying not to give tmi, we've already given me cystitis from too much 'activity' 8-[ Is this a common thing?

Well, my best piece of advice?

Temping and charting so you know your cycle better.
Keep :sex: fun as much as possible, try not to make it a chore.
As silly as this sounds (and I'm sure a few people won't agree with me) but try and relax a little about the whole process. It can be stressful and worrying, but just try and remember that too much stress is never a good thing. Some is natural, but if it takes over your whole life, then that's not good either. (Ok, really have to take some of my own advice! :rofl:) No seriously, it may not (or it may, you never know) happen right away and you can't start stressing about it if you're not pg in a month.

I am getting some OPKs from here https://www.smefertility.com/low-cost...tests-47-c.asp

Best piece of advide from me, well two actually lol.
1: Invest in a clearblue fertility monitor, it is Well worth the money for one!
2: Try not to stress too much over ttc, as much alot of people dont want to hear this, it really will happen when its right.

Two bits of advice.

1. Don't expect it to happen too soon, prepare yourself for a long wait, and if the wait is shortly - then bonus!
2. Learn to know your body, record any signs and changes so you begin to know what is happening before it happens

Checking CM and baby dance every other day!

Hi - welcome to B&B!

you are looking for what is called EWCM (egg white cervical mucus) - that is a vaginal discharge that looks a bit like egg white - clear, abundant and stretchy. This CM makes the optimum environment for the sperm to live in.

Good luck!

enjoy the BDing and if you don't feel like it, don't do it or it just won't work xxxxxxx

go have a talk with your GYN or doctor tell him/her that your ttc...i just had mine today and we have being ttc for 2 month ,today my GYN reassure me a lot...it can take to 4 to 6 month or a year for a healthy couple to concieve so i am less stress now knowing i need to take my time and when the time come it will come:) . i was all worried about lub and hot tub etc...she gave me some answer,i fell much better now:)
wishing the best in your ttc journey!

Here's my best two:

1. Throw everything out of the window that you've read on your "chances" in your age group or health range! Everyone is different! And when you're actually TRYING it seems to take longer than those "suprises" some of us get!

2. Don't get into the slump I did! Sometimes when you're doing OPKs and tracking every ounce of CM, you'll find yourself only having sex when you're "fertile".... The reality is this: It took us 8 months to concieve this baby. 7 of those months I was tracking everything about being obsessive about it, and we never had sex unless I was "ovulating". Didn't work. Finally my husband banned OPKs from the house, and we had sex FOR FUN all month! And guess what?!?! He was right! Don't make it a chore!

Good luck hun!!! :hugs:

I say:

Start taking a Folic Acid supplement;
Visit your local health nurse/doctor for advice and a health check;
Read everything you can on the subject;
Read about other people's experiences because they are both interesting and sometimes entertaining;
Learn about your own body by charting and using OPK's;
If you can afford to buy a Clearblue Fertility Monitor as they give you a clear indication of when you actually ovulate (they are worth every penny);
Enjoy your time together with your husband;
Throw the instruction booklet away and don't get hung up on timing because Mother Nature will look after that.

These are the actions I have taken and I'm going to keep a positive outlook and take whatever comes my way.

Best of luck and :dust: to you.

PS: I've listed everything sorry, however my ONE best piece of advice from personal experience would be to buy a Clearblue Fertility Monitor. It will give you peace of mind to know exactly when you have ovulated.

I've only been TTCing for 2 months but one thing I'll say is - you WILL become obsessed by it for a bit and you WILL symptom watch obsessively. So don't worry too much about 'relaxing' right now cos you probably won't be able to!

But after a coupla months, things start to chill a bit and once you realise, on average, it can take up to 6 months to conceive, you'll realise that the best thing to do it enjoy the first 6 months.

And actual tips - well, the obvious ones. BD as much as you can (but every day can wear out the sperm so every other day); make sure you deffo BD around the time you're ovulating (2-3 days before as well, not just on the day); deffo take folic acid and, if you can, zinc, magnesium and vit b6 supplements (you can buy them all in 1 tablet); try to be at your best weight - eat healthily and exercise; cut down smoking and alcohol. Oh, and according to medical reprts, eat 2-3 helpings of full fat ice cream a week (am not kidding, google 'ice cream fertility' and you'll see!!! It was front page of The Times here in the UK a few months back!)

Good luck!
