When did you go back to DTD?

I know the doctors say 6 weeks of pelvic rest after vaginal or c section delivery, but I wondered how long everyone actually waited after their c section. My husband has been hinting he wants to, but he's not being pushy or anything. Also, I just really miss being intimate with him. It's been 3 weeks today after my section and I'm already almost back to normal. There is very minimal bleeding and some tenderness of course. Nothing too bad though I haven't even taken any pain meds in a week. I'm debating getting back to it soon, or waiting the 6 weeks like they tell you to.

For my 1st section, I waited until 8 weeks and it was still a bit uncomfortable for me...not vaginally, of course, but too much motion for my stomach, if that makes any sense.

Not sure how long I'll wait this time. I'm too exhausted with a newborn and toddler to think about DTD right now...:haha:

I was ready to by about 3 weeks post section but we waited until 4! did debate about waiting until 6 but I didn't want to, I was keen to start again

it was really painful for me (vaginally, I didn't have any discomfort abdominally at all) the first two times and it's still not totally enjoyable but definitely improving. I think it might be psychological though and also they tried forceps delivery so that probably didn't help!

5 weeks after my first and four after my second. With my second section I only bled for a week and a half. It was extremely painful due to my SPD.

Thanks ladies. Now I don't feel so crazy for thinking of going back to it early. We'll probably give it a go this weekend lol.

Babybaker2011, I can understand waiting because of exhaustion. I don't currently have that problem because my daughter is still at the hospital because of being premature. DTD will probably be the furthest thing from my mind once she is home.

Babyv13, luckily I never even went into labor so no vaginal trauma to speak of. I don't know if I'd be thinking about it so early if that had been the case.

I hope she's able to come home soon. :hugs:

Thank you :) She's doing super well, but it provably be another 3-4 weeks before she comes home. She has a lot of growing to do first, but she's getting there.

No one told me about waiting 6 weeks!! Think we got back to DTD about 2-3 weeks last time...no pain at all although it did get more uncomfortable later on due to breastfeeding and generally less in the mood due to pure exhaustion that creeps in after months of sleepless nights....so I'd get to it and enjoy it while you can!!
