When did you start dressing your baby in clothes every day?

We are in a hot climate so it really depends on the heat. For both boys when tiny I do sleepsuits at night then for the day a onesie with either soft trousers or shorts. If it's really hot they go in a short sleeve/leg romper. I like button under tops until they are walking then switch to t shirts. My 2 year old lives in shorts and t shirts for day wear.

I like to differentiate between night and day , to me part of that is getting them into a routine of getting dressed for the day .

I always changed my two at night, but at the time it was just another pyjama :haha:

Dd wore rompers during the day for a long time, I put her in outfits sometimes but mostly it was rompers and sleep suits. It was maybe at 7-8 months that I was more persistent in dressing her in an outfit every day.

Ds however strictly wears sleepsuits and 2 piece pjs at night. I do have some daytime rompers that he wears during the day. today he's wearing a t shirt and pants while dd is wearing a dress. Someone brought us jeans for him- I actually put him in them once but then changed him within an hour because he just looked too uncomfortable (it didn't fit right).

vests with buttons at the bottom and matching pants/leggings are my favorite outfits for babies. I still have some of dd's ones too and they are so comfortable!

With my son we dressed him mostly in sleep suits until he was about 2 or 3 months old. Like you, he always had a fresh, clean 'daytime' sleep suit on and then a different one for bed.

He did wear the odd outfit but mainly as people had bought him them so I felt I ought to get some wear out of them.

After a couple of months we mostly dressed him in just soft outfits. We quite often dressed him in those crawler type trousers. You know the ones with the feet built in. They were so soft and comfy for him and we could put a shirt with them.

I now have a baby girl and I must admit the girls clothes are more interesting than the boys (although it leans towards pink a bit too much for my liking). So she's been wearing outfits since she was about 2 weeks but, again, a lot of them are ones that have been bought and so I try putting her in sleeosuits when I can and leggings and bodysuits just to mix it up a bit.

DD1 was in real clothes quite early, probably from a couple of weeks old i'd say if not earlier. I had all her little outfits planned out weeks in advance :haha: DD2 was mostly in sleepsuits for the first few months and this baby is likely to be the same.

I'm just sitting here looking at my 11 month old in a babygrow... Still... :haha:

If we're going out he'll get dressed in some socks, jeans and a top etc, but generally it's babygrows for comfort.

However, he is so wriggly now that doing up all the poppers is infuriating. So we will be switching to pants/tops ("proper clothes") during the day soon and just some pjs at night.

I hesitated with proper clothes for a long while at first because pulling trousers off was annoying for nappy changes, and tops would always ride up when holding him. But now he's so mobile it's actually easier than wrestling the poppers back on.

My son was in babygrows for a good 6 months x

What are babygrows? I Google it, and get different images. Is it a brand?

Babygrows are all in one sleepsuits.

Edit to add picture.

Mine is 2.5 weeks old and I pretty much only dress her if we have to leave the house.

I actually wasted a lot of money buying real clothes for 0 - 3 months, and they hardly wore any of it

Both mine were in babygrows in the house most of the time. If I go out I will dress them but only then really.

I hated seeing DS in "grown up" clothes when he was really little. I thought he had the rest of his life to wear them and wanted him in comfy cotton onsies for as long as possible. Plus it makes life a lot easier for changing them etc. I leave him in his pjs if we don't go anywhere at least for the morning. They don't get dirty when he is sleeping so may as well use them and it is less laundry lol!

DD is in grows most of the time unless we go out. Even then I will sometimes leave her in a grow depending on where we are going. If I know I'm going to put her in the Moby wrap I find she is more comfy in a grow rather than an outfit.

For me it's all about ease and comfort for the bubbas. Mine have always been more comfy in babygrows than anything else 😊

From about 3 months, when I felt like she was a little bit less fragile. She still wears bodysuits to bed, but during the day I have her in onesies with leggings, or a dress, etc :)

My daughter is a week old today and mostly she wears sleepsuits but twice now we have put her in a top and leggings so nice comfy soft clothes. Wouldn't put jeans or anything on for a while.
