Just a poll to see what others did

Offered at 26 weeks, she only started eating at 7.5 months. We did BLW.

BLW, started offering veg at around 23 weeks expecting him to smush it around and throw it on the floor, and he ate it! So we accidentally started earlier than we initially intended :)

I started offering Lo food at 24 weeks, just soft veg sticks and fruit at first, however she didnt actually eat anything until 26 weeks :flower:

We started TW at 17 weeks and started introducing finger foods at 23 weeks - she eats anything and everything lol.

Amy was 5 1/2 months, with fruit puree which she loved and she still loves fruit now. It helped with her sickness, too. She hated the baby rice.

Same

Erin started taking things off our plate and playing with it so we tried her out with some bits at about 24w. I later found food in her nappy  wasn't expecting that TBH!!

Well. I offered her some banana to hold today. It kept shooting out of her hands where it was slippery but she was trying to lick it. I held it for her and she gripped my hand, as she does with her bottle and enjoyed licking it.

This evening I tried her with gluten free baby rice, just to see what she did. I made it with formula and with more formula than the recommended amount (the pack said this was fine, make to baby's preference).

It took a few minutes of licking it off her face and she got the idea. She snatched the spoon off me and put it in her mouth (after jamming it into her cheek!). She opened her mouth and put it in herself. We couldn't believe it.

I felt she was ready, I just had a gut feeling. Today she actually was all smiles when eating and cried when I stopped giving it to her! She really loved it and new when she was ready to stop.

Surely the fact she tried to feed herself is a good sign?

I'm still going to take it slow and she still wanted her bottle after 3.5 hours. I know not to reduce her milk intake and will continue to make her food up with milk (she had 1oz in the rice).
