I am currently on Garden leave. Will officially end employment on or about the 5th May.
I am currently searching like crazy for a new job....and my issue is thus.....I have to give 4 weeks notice to the childcare........if I dont have a job I cannot pay them (its like £1300 a month!) but without them I cannot get a job (nice catch 22!!) So I am trying to work out how long I can go before I tell Tax credits, like do I tell them NOW I finish on the 5th May, and then if I find a job before then tell them again I am working from X date? Or should I just leave it and if on the final day of employment I dont have a job to go to, just tell them there and then?
I have kinda got about 3 weeks to find a job before I think I DEFINITELY have to give notice - and sods law I would give notice then 2 weeks later find something
. If I lose the childminder I am completely screwed as cant take DD to the before school club that opens at 7:30 and drop DS off at a nursery at 7:30 and be at work on time (either 8am or 8:30am around here) when its about a 20 mile drive to work - well the type of work/jobs/companies I work for.
