I have been dealing with a kidney infection since Christmas. It is hard to treat because the flow of urine is obstructed by the uterus so during treatment bacteria still regrows.
My baby has been moving less since the infection started. Especially during days when I feel worse, the burning sensation returns. For example when I tried to quit antibiotics and within just a day the painful symptoms returned. Have been taking antibiotics again since yesterday but am getting very little movement even when poking and pushing. His heartbeat was heard by the midwife today and fine but it still concerns me.

Could it just be a coincidence? Are your lo's quiet for two or more hours at a time or have days where they don't kick and just shift around a bit?

This describes my condition:

My baby didn't move much from 25 - 27 weeks! Or at least, I didn't feel it. I was worried, but heartbeat was fine. Now today he's moved ALLL day long and hasn't stopped once...in fact I can just press on my stomach slightly and he just explodes with movement.

Could be your babe is having a growth spurt (mine is more mellow during spurts) and will likely bounce back with a vengeance in the weeks to come!

Mine goes long periods of time without moving even when I poke him. I just assume he's in a deep sleep. I remember reading that they sleep 12-14 hours a day at this stage. He's usually more active at nights.

I had a day 2 days ago she hadnt reslly moved...
Got home used my doppler couldnt find her in her norm place...
After a long long minute or so of scanning she had moved on the other side and further up so i poked her and she flipprd back lol

She def still as odd more active or less active days

Isn't it worse to start then stop a round of antibiotics than to not take them at all? (for an infection of course)
I've noticed our little guy has three times a day hes really active, I assume hes sleeping the rest since they sleep now.
I remember being told to keep an eye on those typical active periods to judge reduced movement instead of X amount of kicks in so many hours

It depends. I finished two rounds of antibiotics. First 5 days of Penicillin, which did not work, now Cefuroxim for 7 days, quit like ordered by the Doctor but had to start again since the Infection wasn't gone. A kidney infection can quickly lead to death, so in this case it is the only way.

Good to hear I am not alone! Today he is teally active again for some reason. Maybe he just goes through quieter periods. So hard not to worry when you are dealing with a Medical problem and wonder how your body still manages to sustain a pregnancy feeling like poop.. :/

Aww hun really feel for u with ur issues and worrying about bubs
Sounds as hes jus fine tho xxxx
