When is your 1st cycle after MC?

Do you start as cycle 1 from the day of your miscarriage or does cycle 1 start from your first period after the miscarriage?

After your miscarriage your body probably won't be on a regular cycle (sorry). It can take a while (have read that some women wait 7 weeks) for your period to return and after that you may not be back on your typical schedule.

My cycle used to be 28 days and I hadn't been on the pill for years. I used to be able to set my watch to the time it would come, down to the hour. After my first miscarriage (I've had 2 losses), my period came 31 days after my d&c. It took a few cycles to come back on track. I had a few months where I was having my period every 30ish days not 28.

My last miscarriage was complete (I passed the sac) on February 16th. My period started on March 18th, which was 30 days after my miscarriage.

It is also normal to feel strong pregnancy symptoms for a while after your miscarriage (sore breasts, etc) when your period is due. It certainly fooled me, thought for sure we were pregnant again when we hadn't even tried.

Your first af after mc is cycle one. After all, as soon as you mc, your body is, in different speeds, hence the annoying wait , lol!, gearing up to its normal business. In effect, the time after your mc up until your af is the first cycle since you do ovulate sometime in that time and then if you dont conceive get your af. Every consecutive af after is another cycle.

I understand what you're asking suz but it all depends on how you define it as opposed to when it is. Usually a cycle is just that, a whole journey from start to finish, and since you do go through that after a mc..its up to you what you count.

If you've just had your 1st af then you would be in your 2nd cycle after mc..depending on whether you ttc in the first one or not...see, it could get really silly !

I'd say I'm on my third cycle. I had the bleeding from miscarriage, then 5 weeks later I had my first period, then about 3.5 weeks after that, my period and now I'm half way through my 3rd. Thanks xx

I think that the 1st cycle is after your miscarriage... my af came 28 days after my erpc and I've just had number 2!
