When LO's Are Teens - What Kinda Mum Dya Think You'll Be?!

ermm i have a 15 year old daughter im only 32

she says im embarssing mum and i love to wind her up about boys and i wind all her pals up in facebook

her pals think she is cool cause im so young and all there mums are in there50s.

Yep, me too! My oldest DD is 13, nearly 14 now and I'm 34 and remember exactly what it was like to be her age! It's great, just hope I can be as laid back when Fi is a teenager, I'll be 46 then *gulp*

A bit laid back and a bit pushy lol,
I want LO to be free spirited but I also want to encourage her to do well, so I guess pushy is the wrong word, to be honest I am one of those mums who wants everything for LO that I didn't achieve myself, but I wont be disappointed if she doesnt want / achieve it.

Oh my gosh, I actually have a teenager now! My eldest son is 13. I am a mixture of
-cougar mom (not that I am a cougar, but that I was young when I had him, and still look and act young. So his friends all think I'm pretty and don't know I'm his mom at first );
-laid back mom. We get along great because I remember so well what it feels like to be a teen, and we talk like peers. I advise him and listen to him, and it's wonderful.
-paranoid mom!! There is more and more to worry about the older they get!

So just for a wee bit of fun, i thought it'd be funny to look into the future and predict what kinda mum we'll end up being to our LO's.

Here are the categories:

Cougar Mum - If you have a boy then all his mates will fancy you and refer to you as a MILF or if you have a little girl, you'll be the mum they all wanna look like

Super Mum - Your the mum who's so on top of everything, your so immaculately dressed and the house is so spick and span that not a speck of dust dons your home...You COULDNT possibly have it any other way!

Laid back Mum - Your so easy going, your practically horizontal....Your son/daughter wants to know about sex...HELL YES, you'll sit down and have 'the talk' in a heartbeat...drugs, drink etc - Its cool, your only young once, you've gotta give it a go at some point!

Pushy Mum - Your the mum who's always pushing your teen the achieve the best...B grade isn't good enough for you....It HAS to be A* all the way! Alternatively, your teen might have a talent, this NEEDS to be encouraged, he/she MUST succeed at it...They MUST!!!

Or any other...


Personally i'd LIKE to be a bit of a Cougar Mum, mixed in with a bit of Super Mum, laced with a little Laid back in me to!

cougar mom - well i like to think i'm pretty hot for a mom now .. but 16 years for now i may not be! maybe!

super mom - nah. i was never much for a spotless house. i like to create the illusion of clean, without spending hours cleaning haha

easy going mom - in a sense. i'd like to be comfortable talking to my kids about sex, drugs, drinking, etc. but i'd NEVER say you're only young once you mays well go for it!

pushy mom - in a sense. but i'd never say something wasn't GOOD ENOUGH. I want to push my kids to do their best .. and wenther their best is a A or a C, ill be proud.

i wana be laid back mum mixed with super mum lol ! not too laid back tho ! i want eabha to be able to talk to me about anything and i want us to have a really close relationship but she has to know theres a line & i want her to have respect for me ! respects what ill always teach her at the end of the day i just want to do the best by her & be the best momy i can be !

I have a 13 year old and 10 year old daughter...and now a 2 week old son. I am the Laid Back yet over protective mom LOL I don't hesitate to teach the girls what they nees to know so they don't end up a teen moms like I was, but I don't let the oldest date yet, or either of them leave the house without supervision etc. I just started letting them walk to the bus stop 2 weeks ago I guess I am having a hard time accepting they are growing up. In the same sense...the attitudes that come with being a teen I could do without, some days they make me want to move out! LOL
