Do you leave the kettle water to go cold, warm or leave it hot before you mix them and put them in the fridge?

none of the above lol, boil water leave it for 20 mins pour into bottle, add nipple and cap leave at room temp add powder as needed.

I leave water for 20 mins after boiling before making up bottles, so the water is not "boiling" but it is still steaming and by no means just warm. If you're gonna store formula in the fridge with the powder mixed in then its important to add it to 70c+ water. Its not ideal but its ok to use cool/warm pre-boiled water, then mix with powder as long as you feed immediatly and not store. xxx

Thanks for the responses, I've decided to do it a different way and just store the pre boiled water and add power & heat up as needed :)

i always leave kettle to cool for 15 min then make up and leave in back of fridge.

i think however you do it, it just making sure the powder comes into contact with hot water (+70o) to kill of the bacteria.

I leave for 30 minutes. AFAIK adding formula to water that has just boiled kills all the nutrients but still needs to be hot enough to kill the bacteria. My milk says 50 degrees c, but I've heard other ladies here say 70. Depends on the milk I guess.
