Haven't a clue so just curious as to when you need to move up from teat size 1?
We use avent bottles and I think we moved from size 1 to 2 at around 6 weeks old but she's now 6 months and STILL on size 2! We've got size 3 and tried her with them but she just dribbles the whole bottle and then is still starving at the end cos she never actually drank much! Lol. She seems happy with the size 2's for now though, she isn't having to suck too hard or anything. We've also tried the variable teats but she doesn't seem to get the hang of those either!

my dd is the same, she is on size 2 avent teats as size 3 is way too big and the milk goes everywhere...what is the variable teats?
I've noticed a few times that the teat is popped down on itself (if you get what I mean?) when I pull it out to burp him so maybe this is a sign he needs the next size up? I'm using Avent size 1 at the moment x

Hey, the variable teats have a sort of slit instead of a hole. Supposedly the baby controls how much milk they get by how hard they suck etc but all she did when we tried them was dribble it out everywhere again. They're meant to be good for thicker liquids like if you have to use hungry milk or add a thickening agent. We add gaviscon to our lo's bottles for reflux which is why we tried them but like I said didn't get on with them.
