When to bring younger siblings to the hospital?

seaweed eater - your response just made me cry!! I sure hope my DD has the same experience as you did

He told me that facetime is an option!!! I think that we figured it all out. Him and my DD will just wait in the waiting room along with his parents, unless DD has school, and I will have my mom and my best friend in the the delivery room with me.

Whats the worst that can happen? I end up with one person or no one in the room with me? At this point we have to try everything and I am just more concerned for my oldest at this point!

My OB did move my due date to December 31st! So She should be on Christmas break so this is a huge reliever also!!

Oh wow. Three hour drive to the hospital?? Thats nuts! I'm almost afraid to let my DD come see us. I'm afraid shell throw a fit when its time to leave. She will be staying at her grandparents house. My hospital is only 25 minutes but I have another one thats only 8 minutes away if I had an emergency ( my doctor doesn't go to that one).

YEah it's a bit nuts. I think a few babies have been born by the road. There is a birthing unit an hour away if needed but my midwife has said we set of as soon as I start feeling things happen, so hopefully plenty of time to get the inlaws in.

When we were driving to hospital with DD1 my husband was speeding. In my labour delerium I thought it would be funny to be pulled over by a policeman so I could grunt and moan at him ha ha.

I am not sure if I want to do a home birth if they would even allow me to. I wouldn't feel safe, and if something goes wrong I want all the proper doctors and equipment to be available.

It's not up to them really and they still have all the resus equipment there. It's not like your left on own.

Homebirths in the states are different than ones in the UK, in a lot of the States here if a Certified Nurse Midwife attends a home birth she can lose her license, most midwives don have much medical training or equipment.

In the UK their midwives have all the medical training, its cheaper (since their medical system is socialized) to have a homebirth. The UK is built for it.

Haha, that would be funny. I know my OH (he is a policeman) has personally dealt with the experience of delivering on the side of the road. I'm sure any policeman with common sense would probably escort you with lights and sirens! ( I know mine would) :) :haha:
