When to call a doc?

Hi everyone,

I registered on this site shortly after my first pregnancy (and first cp) in Feb...I posted a few times but was still having a tough time processing everything so I stopped posting and continued to lurk across some of the boards for support. It has been so so helpful and therapeutic to read about others going through the same things and to see them moving forward and in many cases, get their bfps!

Anyway, I got a faint bfp yesterday at 10dpo. My first since the cp. I'm really glad that we've gotten this far again but I am pretty cautious and trying not to get too excited yet. My question is, when should I call the doc to get checked out? Should I call now or wait until I've passed my last cp date of 5 weeks? I've only had the one cp so I'm not sure if they would want to bring me in early. I'd be gutted if I called and they gave me an 8 or 10 week appointment that I end up calling to cancel again if, God forbid, I have another cp.

Any advice, support, or hellos are much appreciated! Thanks for reading!

My first instinct is to tell you to call now and honestly discuss when they would like to see you. You may just want to schedule blood work first and then tell them that once you have good numbers, at THAT point you'll call back to schedule further appointments.

My OB office automatically canceled the rest of my appointments once it was confirmed I had miscarried so I never had the task of calling to cancel. Not sure if there's any right or wrong way to go, really whatever feels best for you. But if they want to schedule further appointments just tell them that you can call back later to do that.
