hello Ladies

I have been changing from breastfeeding to formula over the past week and today is the first day of onlyl formula feeds.

My son is currently on stage 1 teat. I was just wondering when others Mums in the same positon changed over to stage 2 and then stage 3 etc. He's nearly 9 weeks and we use Avent teats.

Many thanks in advance

XXXX

I use Dr Browns but found I needed to go up when he was about 8 weeks. I used to use Avent and he was using stage 2 from the beginning X

when you need to, your lo will let you know as it will take FOREVER for them to drink a bottle lol

Bryn is now on avent stage 2 he is 11 weeks, but ideally hed be happier on a 3. But try variflow. We also use tommee tippee bottles and variflow teats are great because they can drink at there own pace and speed x

hi ive just googled avent and yes they do

I use Avent teats for Evie. We change teats when her old ones start collapsing when she's drinking, or it takes her forever to finish a bottle. Also she'd often fall asleep while drinking it, or just got so fed up with trying to get milk out that she'd give up on it.

I think she was about 7 weeks when we changed to Stage 2 teats, She was around 11 or 12 weeks old when we tried her on Stage 3 teats but she wasnt quite ready for them (she'd choke quite a bit on the faster flow) so we left it a few days then tried again and she was fine. She's now on Stage 4 teats and has been for about a month. She didnt even notice the change, except that she could drink quicker lol!

Yes Avent do Variflow teats and they also do teats for thicker liquids, ie, comfort formulas or formulas that have Gaviscon in them.

I never went through the stages with my son...he was having size 1 until about 8 months and then we swapped to vary flow teats.
