When to get first ultrasound?

I'm going to get an early ultrasound done, but when is best? I'd like to only get one done and I have a feeling I won't actually relax until I see the little heart beat flickering away. How early can I go with a high chance of seeing the heart beat?

Agreed ^... At least 6 weeks. I was 6+4 but was dated 6+3 and we got to see and hear HB on a transvaginal ultrasound. GL!

At least 6 wks, but baby isn't really very visible, and usually at that time they can only see the hb, not hear it. Personally, I would wait until 8 wks.

Six weeks at least we seen and heard hb at 6+3

I saw the heartbeat at 6+3, I'd wait till at least then.

I would personally wait till the end part of six weeks. A day makes a great difference!

Thanks, ladies! I'll probably wait until around 7 weeks then just in case. I'd rather wait than do it too early and worry myself about possibly nothing.
