My little man is due 14 weeks tomorrow and I was just wondering when to start sorting out the nursery. We currently use the room as a guest room so a bed and wardrobe need moving. I want to start sorting things now, but is it a bit early?

We started clearing the room quite early but didn't take the spare bed out till a month ago when we had the room decorated but saying that we have another spare room. We had already started storing baby things in there but it is now the nursery, all the furniture is in and Im in the process of washing and ironing all his clothes now I have somewhere to put them all. its all so exciting to get it started, I really don't think its too early, you want to be able to enjoy it before getting too big, take care :hugs: XX

I'm so excited and can't wait to start sorting things. Have you chosen a nursery theme for your little one? we've gone for the "Babies R Us" Jungle Friends.

well...i have written me and OH a timetable of what to do and by when to prepare for bubs...mine's due 4th july so i've said by end of march we have to have got rid of any bits to sell/give away, then by end of april baby's room to be ready (cot up and so on), by end of may hospital bag to be packed and baby bits to be in place round house (e.g. steraliser) and that then leaves me june to do last minute bits or if baby is here early i'll be prepared! lol

We've already stripped the walls and bought the paint but we need the room plastering so waiting for my dad to come and do that at the end of the month and then I'll be painting so hopefully the decorating will be done by Easter and then we can get a carpet in the Easter bank holiday sales and then get the furniture!

I'm still painting and preparing mine!!! Never too early to start!

I am starting stripping the wallpaper off in mine this weekend, have been looking at cots and bedding but waiting till after my 20 week scan next week to decide on the theme!

mines done  i couldnt resist waiting any longer:blush: just need to put up the curtains and a few little bits and pieces....i've also done all the washing ironing etc again i couldnt wait it was all too exciting...gotta remember tho i've been off work for ages n been slowly pottering getting bits done here n there, just all seems to have gotten done !!!! lol :hugs: enjoy decorating ladies

Im hoping to have the nursery done by May. Cant wait xxx

i had mine wallpapered and new flooring done by 22 weeks  i loved sorting out maddi's room! i think it's whenever you're ready, i don't think it's ever too early to start, i preferred getting it all done in second tri and early third as i found i got tired more towards the end :)

We havent started outs at all eek! Having some money issues so from May will have hubby buzzing about like crazy!

I'm at almost 20 wks and I think we are going to start working on the room this weekend. There is wallpaper that needs to be stripped off the plaster, then my husband has to see if it will be easier to repair any of the plaster or put up sheetrock, from there the crown moulding needs to go up, the floor needs to get sanded and then my mother in law and husband will get the painting done.

I'm hoping at best with everyones busy schedule that the room is finished by the end of June so that will give me a whole month to get stuff organized.

OMG I am cleary an eager beaver!! I have already had the room painted (hubby has done it). I have got some basic clothes for the baby like hats mittens baby grows and vests and socks etc. My brother and his missus are buying me a cot and all.

I have told everyone that the room must be complete by the time I turn 7 months. Then I have just the baby clothes to wash and then put my feet up. I mean I'm only little (body wise that is) and at four months I already have a big bump!!

Plus i know with my lot nothing ever goes to time and plan so if I have a deadline set and we go a little over, I'm not too suprised!!! lol
