I've been on birth control pills since the birth of my son 2.5 years ago. We got pregnant with our son on my very first cycle after I stopped taking birth control pills. I've "heard" that you are most fertile that first cycle off of birth control... is that true? Is there a surge of some sort that causes high fertility initially after you stop taking birth control?

Anyways, my husband and I would like to start trying for #2 in the next couple months, and I'm trying to decide whether to better to (1) stop taking my pills now and start tracking my cycles while not really "trying" or (2) keep taking BC pills for 2 more months and then start trying immediately - hoping to catch that initial high fertility "surge", if that exists!!!?

Any thoughts or feedback? Thanks!!

It's recommended to have 1 natural cycle after coming off bcp before trying. I came off mine August last year and my first natural cycle was 52 days.
