As the title says really! When do you stop sterilising them?

Thanks :flower:

I don't sterilise them that often TBH, just wash in hot soapy water. Once you take them out of the steriliser they are technically no longer sterile, so once it's been in and out of LOs mouth a few times.... they definitely aren't!

But if you do want to sterilise them all the time, I'd personally stop sterilising around the time they start crawling and putting EVERYTHING in their mouths

We dont sterilise Jacobs anymore, just run under hot water x

I don't bother sterilising them, ever since the teat got filled with sterilising fluid and it took me ages to get it all out again. Now I just wash with fairy liquid; if they're not submerged but just run under the tap they don't seem to fill up as much. Don't like the thought of Chloe sucking on bleach

OK, I may stop sterilising them...I do them once a day and just rinse them if they fall on the floor (or are thrown out of his cot, which usually happens!!)

We sterilise them about once a week, but if they drop on the floor outside or anything we do it, mostly we just run them under boiling water

I randomly pop them in a mug and pour over freshly boiled kettle water and leave to stand for a while before emptying the water and then using the dummies.

I won't give it back to them if its dropped on the floor when out etc though - I carry spares to be used in that kind of situation

My first was the only one to ever use a soother, and we only ever rinsed it under hot water.

if I'm in the car and its lobbed on the seat, I just *guilty now* suck it and give it back :S

When he started crawling and putting everything in his mouth I stopped worrying everytime they fell on the carpet, but I still sterilise once a day when I sterilise the bottles. in my mind it just gets rid of any stubborn bacteria that may be lingering.

I never sterilize, whenever it would drop on the floor, I would brush it off, give it a quick suck and give it back

I didn't even know u didn't have to steralise them!
I steralise them in the steamer everyday I will probebly do that untill I stop doing bottels because I just chuck them in with them x

Vicks I do what you do - they get sterilised at least once a day, it doesnt take that much effort!

if they drop on the floor ill just give them a rinse and then pop in the steriliser every couple of days!

Well, if it says anything, my LO was never sick while he was using the unsterilized dummies...

quick suck and give it back. LO has his hands on everything and in his mouth anyway so i cant see how a sterilized dummy would add any extra bacteria :) x

We always rinsed them in boiling water whenever it went on the floor etc until she was about 4 months old and now she is into everything, so, I can't see how sterilising her dummy would make any difference!!
Xx :flower:

phew. I hardly wash them and have sterilised them twice!
