When to stop wearing vests?

I stopped getting popper vests just before he starting potty training, i guess at around age 2. He still wears vests but just the regular ones now, from m&s

As early as possible, around 6 months with baby #2. I enjoy being able to look down into the diaper, so as soon as baby is upright and not wiggling around on the floor, I stop with the snapper crotches.

Sophie hasn't worn them for a very long time. I like vests but being chubby and having a large cloth nappy meant they didn't fit well any longer.

They are good to stop skin or nappy showing if their clothes ride up.

I used the ones with poppers for DD1 until she was potty trained, then we went onto the ones without poppers. I wont put her in a vest on a hot day, but will probably keep her in vests in general until she is 8/9/10 sort of age when I guess she will progress onto crop tops, and then eventually bras... ah scary!!!

DD2 is still in the popper vest. I like them for keeping the nappy in place, so on a hot day, I will put her in a vest and shorts, rather than a t-shirt and shorts, but I buy vests that look more like a top for the summer, like this - https://www.jojomamanbebe.co.uk/sp+peter-pan-baby-bodysuits-in-multibuy-offers+d2795
Or I will put her in one of these sort of playsuits - https://www.jojomamanbebe.co.uk/sp+breton-stripe-baby-rompers-in-baby--multibuys+B2393

On a cold day, I will often wear a spaghetti type vest under my top and I'm 29! lol

In the colder winter months I still put my 2.5 year old in them because it's baltic here in the North. Spring/Summer/Autumn I stopped around a year.

This is what I do too, it looks really neat and keeps everything in place

18-24 months she had but after that she just had normal vests without poppers as she was potty trained x

Slightly off topic but this thread has just reminded me of my auntie. She's a retired primary school teacher and she used to moan so much (to us) about children in the school not having vests on under their clothes. She was a bit old school, but it's made me feel obliged to keep my child in vests for years to come.

I seem to remember the whole class doing PE in pants/knickers and vests in infant school. I am sure that would not happen today though!!
By junior school, we did wear shorts and t-shirt.

My five year old still wears vests (not poppers obviously) but like a few other posters I'm in Scotland it's not warm here.

I think it depends on how much each child feels the cold.

My DS wears normal vests now at 5 and has since he was about 2.5. It has to be over 20 degrees for him to happy without a vest - he really feels the cold like DH who always has 2 more layers on than me!

We have bought normal vest since LO was about 2 1/2 just from YU at sainsburys xxxx

I've never really used them much tbh. I much preferred footie jammies when they were infants, and then actual outfits without those types of shirts under when they got mobile.

About 18 months when we were getting ready to potty train and then we swapped to sleeveless vests without poppers. Now it's weather dependent.

My 17 month old wears poppered vests and my 3 year old and 5 year old wear normal vests all the time unless it is really hot.

DS wears normal vests all the time, it is not cold here but there are ACs at home & everywhere we go.

I still put my 4 year old in vests unless it's really really warm.

I think the ones with poppers are great for keeping nappies in place so my son still has these. I stopped getting vests with poppers for my daughter when she was potty trained and before then I keep my babies in them through the summer and skip putting a tee shirt over the top of it's hot x

Holly still wears vests. I find the ones with poppers useful for wearing with nappies. She does wear the normal vests a lot these days though.

Ds still wears vests at 3. Not popper ones, just the normal ones. He wont wear them over the summer really, then ill prob do one more winter of vests and then stop, so when hes 5? I dunno though my nephews still wear vests at 6 so maybe ill carry on longer.
