My lo is 3 weeks old on Monday and so far we have only used plain water on his skin. he was born 10 days late and his skin is peeling all over. It's got a lot better and almost all of it has peeled off now.

When did you start using bath products or baby wipes with your lo's? We tried a wipe when he was a few days old and he got a sore bum, but has been fine since so I've been wondering when to try a little bubble bath? We have the simple bath products as I thought they would be kindest on his skin.

I used wipes from day one, but didn't bother with bath products until 3 months.

We used wipes from day one and bath products from about a month I think it was.
Aquaus(sp?) cream was realy good for our LO dry skin as he was born 13 days late and his skin became realy dry and pealy when he was 2 weeks old.

Edit actualy thinking back we used a johnsons top to toe gentle wash a few times before he was a month and it seemed to be fine on his skin.

I still only use lavender oil and the occasional shampoo. I use oil on her skin if she gets dry.

We tried using the olive oil that the mw recommended but it didn't make much difference. Think we will give it another week them try the bubble bath, if he seems ok with that then might try the baby lotion and shampoo.

BTW do you put baby lotion on all over their bodies??

have i done wrong?

ive used bath and wash and shampoo and wipes from day one and he was 15 days earlie?

Leni was 6 weeks premature, and Leni's consultant and his HV have all said wipes are fine.

have i done wrong?

I've used bath and wash and shampoo and wipes from day one and he was 15 days early?

I think you can use them whenever you feel like it.

Yeah I think wipes are considered ok, we have just stuck with water as his skin has been so peely.

We have just started using wipes this week (9 wks old) and still only using water at bath time :flower:

We used wipes from day one although some wipes like Johnsons and Huggies ones make Daisy sore. We use the Pampers ones in the green or white pack. As for bath stuff her skin always has been so sensitive and the only thing we can use that doesn't dry her skin out is Infaderm. We didn't use anything but water for the first month though.

From day one! (But I am from the US and it seems like we tend to do things a little differently) In the hospital when Nolan was maybe 2 hours old the nurses gave him his first bath and used Johnson's Baby Body wash. I did use the sensitive wipes for the first month and LO never had an issue with them.

My LO was 12 days late and peeled like a snake for the first wee while. The MW said to try olive oil, it was good at lifting the dead skin off but I found it made his skin a bit spotty. She told me not to use produs until 6 weeks but I thought the lotion etc would help, since starting using bubble bath, lotion and shampoo his skin and hair has been great, sorry, hair was great, all his little fluffy baby hair is falling out now :(

I've been using wipes since birth as well as a lotion when he had dry skin, which was 90% organic, and now use Baby bottom butter from Waitrose which is 100% natural and organic..

I use the same shampoo and wash Isaac's hair every other day when I bath him.

I have not yet used any bath products, but am itching to use bubble bath!!!

From day one. I've always used bath products on her. And in the times that she had dry peeling skin, I'd just lotion her after her bath.

I used wipes, baby bath and moisturizer from day 1 x

i used cotton wool for first few weeks but you can start using wipes and small amount of baby bath

i use huggies pure baby wipes as meant to be the mildest and a tiny drop of bubble bath

I've used wipes since about day 3 and bath stuff (Johnsons baby bedtime bubbles & lotion) since about 8 weeks.

I did overdo the bubble bath the first time and it was a nightmare! He was like a little seal & kept slipping through my fingers!

I used baby soap & olive oil for the 1st 2 mnths. Now I only use baby shop shampoo for his hair & baby soap for his body. I also use baby oil after his bath & sometimes lipocream if his body is abit dry. As for wipes, I use water base ones with no fragrance. Started using them at 3 mnths.
