I dont know why but I've got this huge fear that the injection/needle is going to be jabbed into my groin/inside thigh..
I'll have an IV up due to insulin and fluids and I know I'll be to wrapped up in cuddling my new peanut but just the thought of it going in my inside thigh makes me all wwobbly at the knees?!

i got it everytime on the outside of my thigh, i have a major phobia of needles but trst meby that time you couldnt care less what gets stabbed into your leg lol xx

I didn't get an injection after I had my son?

I had it in the outside of my thigh, at the top. I didn't really notice it. x

Its top outside thigh but you will hardly notice it, it feels very tiny scratch after what youv'e just been through!

Both of mine were at the top outside of my thigh, didnt really feel a thing after going through childbirth its nothing :-)

mine was on the outside of my thigh. to be honest though, i barely even remember it x

Thanks guys :)

Just a mini phobia I had in my mind ;)!

I never even felt mine! DH tells me it was in my thigh, lol :flower:

OMG your baby is just beautiful!!

Op, I really never felt the jab at all. Your so busy falling In love with your baby you won't even give it a thought.

i honestly cant remember. i THINK it was my thigh but i didnt notice them doing it, haha.

You don't have to have one Hun. She asked me if I wanted it. I didn't feel it at all I was too busy cooing over my baby to even bother I didn't even mind being stitched up and I don't like needles etc but I was just so busy admiring my LO :cloud9:

you don't HAVE to have it unless your being induced....And i DID feel mine but Ima terrified of needles and was very concious of it...she also stood there waving it about while i was pushing so the needle terrified me more than the pushing!lol

But Iam sure if your not being induced you can opt for a natural third stage where you don't need the syntocin x

They don't give injections here. They let it come out naturally.

I don't remember getting one. My placenta came out a few minutes later...maybe they put it in my IV?

I had It in my leg, fat lot of good it did me, I ended up having to have a manual removal :/

Siegal, Syntometrine is given intramuscular i.e. injection in muscle, usually leg or bum once baby is born. Syntocinon/Pitocin is given IV which is commonly used in the US. Not heard of Syntometrine being used there, I would imagine you had it IV. :)

I don't remember this part at all :haha: xx
