Ok this is kind of an odd one...

My cycles are all over the place there is nothing regulars at all. I can go 5 weeks to 4 months without af! Anyways I normally get cm for a few weeks before af comes. Last Thursday I had a lot of cm. But quite clumpy, then a about a day and a half of clear and wet. Now.... Nothing! Literally nothing at all? I have never had this before so I am a bit confused?

I started antibiotics on Friday for a chest infection, could this have stopped or quickened my ovulation? I stopped taking the Antibiotics sat night as they were making me feel quite sick and need the toilet a lot, plus was also feeling a lot better already? Any idea as to what has happened?

Also I had an hsg about two weeks Ago, could this be affecting it? On another note sex has been very painful after hsg, has Nyone else had this?

Sorry I know there were a lot of questions there but any thoughts are Appreciated!

I haven't got a source to quote but I have read somewhere that antibiotics can mess with your ovulation and/or cm.

However, you should NEVER stop antibiotics before finishing the complete prescribed course. Just because you feel better doesn't mean all the bacteria have been killed, and they can "regroup" and make you much, much sicker - and they'll be resistant to the antibiotics, so you'll need a new, stronger one. You risk making yourself sicker, needing more medication, and cultivating a type of resistant microbe which can be passed on to others. This is how MRSA was born!

Not to scaremonger, but obviously your doctor (and pharmacist) hasn't done their job in impressing upon you how important it is to complete your antibiotics.

I'll get off my soapbox now. I did a Microbiology degree so am not just trying to think up scare tactics and conspiracy theories - promise!

Have you been tested for PCOS? Your highly irregular cycles are suspicious. It's pretty typical to be dry or have no cf at some point in a normal cycle, so I wouldn't worry about that. It may be that the antibiotics have affected it as well. Do you track for ovulation? I would suggest starting if you aren't doing that already - then you'd have a better picture of when you ovulate and what your cycles are doing.

Hi. Yeah I have been tested for pcos. I am currently seeing a fertility specialist. I did have a big cyst on my left ovary but that has since gone. I have had day 3 and day 21 bloods done and an hsg but just waiting for the results. I have my next appointment October 3 .

I recently bought a thermometer and am going to start temping but waiting fir af. To be honest as af is so abnormal it's very hard to say when I o so have to rely on cm and then opk when I think it is time to confirm. Have you got any other ways of knowing if I o?

Thanks

Haha don't worry I believe you. I had a bad reaction to meds earlier in the year, had the same feeling/ sickness this time hence why I stopped. The doctor doesn't work weekends so was a bit stuck and then as I felt better have left it. Maybe I will ring him though just to see what he suggests.
