So we just booked a ski holiday :)

G will be 18months, he is already very confident walking but he is small (just moving into 6-9month clothes for the most part)

I want a good quality, warm, waterproof all in one suit that is a practical colour. Unfortunately most I've found seem to start at 18-24months at the youngest. I'm hoping as he'll be nearly 18 months that a 12-18month suit will be OK but realistically 9-12month may be better as I don't want him tripping over it. It needs to be a toddler suit rather than a baby suit as I want him to be able to walk around in it. There are plenty of baby pram/snow suits that still fit - in fact his from last year does!!! but nothing he can walk in :(

Also anywhere that does snowboots in a size 3 or at a push 4 (he's just in a 2.5 now)

Also rainwear for toddlers we've been given a jacket that is only a little too big - but waterproof trousers? Wellies in a size 2-3?

jojo maman bebe is one I can think off!

Warm toddler suit JoJoMamanbebe or maybe 'go outdoors'?
Waterproof suit (no padding) all in one Splashsuit from debenhams.
Wellies - not sure on sizes but mothercare have some in and maybe M&S?

Buffalo do a baby buff suit https://www.macmountaineering.co.uk/acatalog/Buffalo.html
see the bottom of the page. It is fleecy lined and shower proof. Otherwise try 'cotswold' online as they sell kids outdoor clothes.
A bit of random, (hopefully good?) advice... Don't put little one in wellies in the snow, because their feet get really really cold! I used to nanny in the alps. Best to get small walking boots or snowboots... Snowboots you can buy in resort, but maybe eBay too?
Have fun! Xxx

I have been searching for the exact same thing as we are going skiing in Jan when Ollie will be 18 months. The best thing I have found so far is an all-in-one from Togz and the cheapest I can find is on ebay. Here is the link: https://cgi.ebay.co.uk/TOGZ-ALL-IN-...481947&po=LWI&ps=63&clkid=5590631207198022099

They do a 9-12 month size so that should be ok for you. Haven't managed to find any snow boots yet though!

next do all in one coats with no feet in 12-18months, you might have to order it in though but it takes no time to arrive :)

I agree here, buffalo are a fab make, and sooo warm! (I have a coat)....... we got Tom a down suit from cotwolds made by Columbia, there are also good suits ranging in lots of sizes by Regatta, again in Cotswolds..... Another website called muddypuddles is good x

haha! We got the down Columbia suit for our LO too... I'm so jealous of him!

hi,

I was having a nosey on Zara online yesterday and saw this https://www.zara.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product/uk/en/zara-sales/11086/14906

which looks like baby salopettes. cant vouch for quality etc as just saw it online

I can't recommend highly enough the Columbia suit. It's about £30 and columbia make high quality outdoor wear anyway (as opposed to a baby shop which is non-specialist). We got a winter one last year and it was fab. It folds over the hands and feet so can be worn with or without gloves/shoes. Hood is good and snug not stupidly big as they so often are on babies clothing. Showerproof too. Excellent stuff!

There are a few here: https://www.littletrekkers.co.uk/shop/index.php/flypage/6809/f31f7214c3fe0fb1889d119274252c66

I'm looking at a couple of columbia things - but can't find a size chart, can anybody tell me whether they come up big or small?

They have up to 12 month, 12-18 or 18-24. (Some seemto be 12-24 month maybe?)

Its hard to tell what to go for, he's in 6-9month stuff at the mo but going thru a growth spurt coz I've just had to dig out a few 9-12 month things. My instinct is saying go for 12-18month but if they come up huge I may go down a size?

thanks

Also those who use the down columbia baby all in one - how good is it for playing in snow or am I better looking for something more waterproof?

I think I found the Columbia quite an accurate fit and got the age he was but it's hard to remember. The site I ordered from gave measurements which were pretty accurate so look out for that. I don't know which is the down one. It was last winter but the one we got seemed to come in red and blue and was that sort of showerproof stuff. I think it'd be ok in the snow as long as it wasn't for ages.

As far as sizing of the suit i'd say that the up to 12 mths one is quite accurate as long as you don't want to use the fold over feet and mitts, as obviously that'd shorten your useable length.
As far as playing in the snow, down isn't great for that as it clumps when damp and
loses it's insulating properties. But..... For walks and in buggy or carrier the down suit would be ideal. How about buying a rain suit that you could slip over the top for playin in snow. If you bought the rain suit a size bigger it'd fit over the downand you'd have a rain suit for next spring?
Regatta do one..... https://www.cotswoldoutdoor.com/index.cfm/fuseaction/productdetail/id_product/15712
or as I said before I've heard that the buffalo baby suit is good, and as it's fleece it'd dry out really quickly, overnight on a radiator.

hope this helps, xxx
