when i had my little boy, i was treated like shit by the hospital staff, the hospital itself was filthy and i dont believe i was given very good care, obviously this has put me off wanting to have my new baby at the same hospital but im not keen on travelling to a different hospital. ( i no i sound really fussy :/ ) im not keen on a home birth mainly cause of the mess and i panic alot so i would like to no that if things took a turn for the worst then all the medical equipment required would be there and i wouldnt have to travel into hospital. i have alredy asked my mnidwife wot other options i have and tbh she was useless. does anyone else here no wot other options are available??x

Depends on your area really hun.

I am using a midwife led birthing unit.

It definately does depend on your area, maybe you could research it? Ask at your GP if your midwife was useless?

I had my little girl at a midwife led birthing unit, and I am planning to have my second at the same place. It just felt so much more relaxed, and friendly. I would really hate to have to go into hospital to have a baby. I hope you manage to find a place like this in your area hun.. For me, it would be a midwife led birthing centre, or a home birth. I just can't stand hospitals.

i have tried to research it myself but cant find anything in my area i just keep getti things in london :/ i did read about mw led birthing unit and that wa ssomehting i was interested in so obviously thought the mw would tell me this is an option for me but she sed only option i have is hospital :( shall try ask another helath professional x

I'd definitely ask if there's any midwife led birthing units local to you, the one near me is lovely x

I'm in a midwife led birthing unit too... Look around your local hospitals and see what different ones have to offer? That's all I can suggest. Or, you can have someone come and help you with a home birth, but tbh I don't know how to go about arranging something like that.

If your only option is a hospital, maybe you could ask to look around other hospitals in the area? You might find that some are alot better than the one you had your little boy in. I know you said you don't really want to travel to another hospital, but if it's loads better then it might be worth it! Also, the hospital you had your boy at may have cleaned up it's act by now, ask for a look around?
