Been to HV today. Said to try comfort milk but unsure of which brand to try and what to expect with the change? Does anyone have any advise?

Thank you in advance. :)

My suggestion would be if you can get the comfort milk in the same brand that you already use that would probably be best. We used cow and gate infant milk and then when told to use comfort we just used cow and gate again and he took it without issue.

edit: what to expect is green poo..sorry tmi but it does happen and is completely normal. My LO was constipated and a little bit of colic/reflux..the CM helped for both. He is better now so moved back to Hipp infant.

That's what I was wondering.. Thank you for your reply. I jut didn't know whether to use Aptamil as I have heard a lot of good things about that formula but I had already started my LO on SMA. Thank you .

I use aptamil comfort milk and my LO has taken it with no problems. I agree about the green poo, it's lovely!! And we also had to change to a bigger teat because comfort milk is thicker so he was struggling to get it out.

I'm now in asda not knowing whether to stick with SMA or gk to Aptamil, the Aptamil has less lactulose.... I can't help but think its worth giving this ago .... :-s

You could give the aptamil a go, the reason they 'recommend' the same brand is because your LO will be used to the flavour. I have been able to switch my LO between different brands without problem.

Might be an idea to have a small amount of the regular SMA in the house in case your LO doesn't take to the aptamil.

Hehe cow and gate comfort tastes totally different to their first infant milk. My LO has been on comfort milk since she was 2 weeks old. It tastes horrible to me, but she loves it. Its helped her colic and reflux. We tried her back on regular milk but her reflux came back. Defo expect green poo though lol xx

I know, I always check the temperature by tasting it, nearly threw up first time I made a bottle of comfort milk. :haha:

I have never tasted his infant milk so can't compare but when we went to the olympics they made me taste all of bottles, 3 were just water ready to be made up and one was the left over comfort milk from the train ride up.. If I knew they were going to make me taste them I could have poured out the milk before we got there. I don't know how can our LO stomach the stuff.
