Which formula for gassy babies? With least additives/sugars?

My son is currently on both breastmilk and formula and I really hope I can breastfeed exclusively eventually but its not looking good... so I want to know which formula just in case it becomes a permanent thing.

He was on Similac for a few days but he was so gassy and spitting up so I switched to Nestle Goodstart on recommendation from my doctor. From what I read, it's less sugary and is lighter than some other brands.

He is still really gassy but we are pretty sure now its because of his tongue tie. He clicks and swallows a ton of air while eating despite using nipples and bottles that are supposed to help with gas/colic. We have tried Playtex with liners and they seem to work well because I can squish the air out as I go (plus they are so easy to clean). And we also tried the special Avent ones. No difference really. And others.. but it doesn't help. He still has the gas problems with breastmilk as well.

I know the tongue tie is likely the main cause so we'll be seeing the doctor for that ASAP but I'm wondering if there isn't a better formula to be giving him?

I've heard good things about Enfamil for gas/sensitive tummies, but then I read that they add a lot of chemicals and sugar supposedly? So now I don't know!

Then I read the way they process the synthetic DHA/EPA is possibly harmful but at the same time, I'm nervous to NOT have that in it. Is there even a formula without it now? Then I could supplement my own drops or something?

I also read that some of the organic brands even have chemicals or sugars that are unhealthy. So nothing seems 100% best. Any opinions?? :)

He seems to be doing fine with Goodstart, but I'm wondering if there is anything bad about it that I don't know?

I did a TON of research on the different formula brands (except organic because I knew we couldn't afford it) and I personally think that Good Start is the best one as far as ingredients. I mean, formula is what it is and none of them are perfect, but that one is different since, like you said, it has MUCH less corn syrup solids than all the others.

I don't have any experience with tongue tie, but my lo was REALLY gassy for the first 3 months or so, even on breast milk, but she was the least gassy when I switched to Good Start. You can also try adding gripe water to his bottles, that helped my lo a lot.
