Oh is being totally useless and says whichever ones I think would look best

The painted ones would probably be cheaper as food colouring is super cheap, as is pva glue. But then I'm not sure which ones look prettier. Each one will have polka dot ribbon around the top and a little lace strip around the middle of the jar

ETA - he's decided on the coloured ones as he doesn't think the frosted effect looks decorative enough Feels brilliant to finally have him help decide on something

I like the colored ones too - you can do any color and match with whatever ribbon/lace you want.
