I have a tommee tippee manual breast pump, and have only expressed about 3 times so far, so not sure whether i just havent got the hang of it yet or if its the pump thats just rubbish.

which pumps do you have? or which would you reccomend? i find it really hard just sitting there pumping away, so am thinking an electric/battery powered one would be better... any ideas ladies? advice much appreciated! :)

I find the Medela pumps are very good. They are expensive but are worth it. I have the Medela Swing and the Mini Electric. Both are excellent but the mini one is a bit noisy whereas the swing is very quiet.

i have been looking on ebay so maybe i could get one there. how much do you express at a time?

It depends - on average I get about 4oz, sometimes more sometimes less x

how many times a day do you pump? sorry... questions questions... :) x

i have the medela swing aswell, used to have a semi manual one and it was good at the time but now i have electric i see that it was rubbish lol

i express a few times a day, usually get about 6oz for the last feed but i could get more if i was more strict with getting it lol, i always forget to sterilise it until shes screaming for mama and by then i have to just feed her so the expressing gets left to the next feed cos i like to express while im feeding her off the other boob, it helps me get more out

I'm an exclusive expresser so have the medela symphony double pump.
I express anything from 6-12 times a day and get between 10oz and 2oz off depending on how long it has been since the last time I expressed.
