We get the Tesco Greek style full fat yoghurt. It's quite thick and I've never spoon fed it (did BLW). We just gave LO a couple of tablespoons of it in a bowl and let her go! Sometimes she'd put her hand in and lick it off her fingers (you'd be surprised how well that works!) but we always gave her a spoon too (a couple actually, either one for each hand or one for her to use while I pick up the other one!). By 8 months, if I showed her how to put the spoon in the bowl and stir it round while saying "Dip dip" then gave her the spoon and said "Dip dip" again, she would copy and then eat whatever she got on the spoon. Both kids did that.
I wouldn't spoon feed a child (I just don't see the point when they can feed themselves) - if LO was getting frustrated with it, I would consider thickening the yoghurt, maybe with a bit of porridge or something - or pre-load the spoon but putting a spoon in a baby's mouth is out for me.
