I know i get maternity pay and will get child benefit once LO is born but i would like to know what else i am entitled to.

Hate that i am even asking the question but working out what money will be coming in each month me and OH will be down around £300-£400 and atm we always just go into overdraft so not really sure how we are going to cope

Done everything right both have jobs, own house (mortgage), etc. so felt time was right to have baby but now thinking will have to go back to work much sooner than i would like so we can survive - seems so unfair people i know who are pregnant but don't have income from partners and dont have own homes etc. who will get so much money and help just want to know if i am entitled to anything else so i can actually enjoy spending quality time with LO when he arrives

Seem to find websites very vague etc. if on low income (does not give a figure so what is low???) and would like to go and speak to a human who can go through it all with me and (if qualify) give me relevant paperwork and help. Would this be citizens advice?

Any help be very much appreciated :flower:

Hey Hun not sure if this helps but i read a few times on her that some banks offer a "break" on your morgage after lo is born.

Yes i read that too - unfortunately ours does not  Only thing we can do is stay with same bank and change mortgage but they will put us onto a black list!! Thanx Santander the award winning mortgage provider

i believe "low income" is a joint income of less than £16,000 (because of course anything over that and you are clearly in a good financial position for everything :dohh:)

it is frustrating, i know!

You will also get Tax Credits (how much depends on your income again). You should be able to find out how much you'll get by visiting the directgov website. There is a calculator and a table that shows you what you get depending on what you earn

Very frustrating!

Have been onto websites but end up frustrated with imputting all kinds details over and over wish there was someone i could go to talk things over with they say yes or no and give me relevant forms if get any help at all - simple!:dohh:

It is frustrating. I was lucky enough to get mortgage payment break.

Have you checked out the HMRC Tax Credits website? If you try a google search for "HMRC Tax Credits Do I Qualify" then you get the webpage that site is brilliant and it is part of HM Revenue & Customs site. Good luck.

go to the citizen's advice or jobcentreplus with all your household income details, wage slips, savings etc... they'll do the calculation for you.

Perhaps ring them first to get an appointment
