Who do you want in the birthing room?

Hey ladies!

Have any of you decided on who you want to be there with you in the room when you're in labor/giving birth?

I know my OH will be there, especially since he's going to be the only person that's close enough to even drive me to the hospital lol. But I'm not sure if anyone else will show up, and for some reason that makes me feel sad. My parents are a little disconnected, so I don't know if they would come until a few weeks after I've given birth. My MIL would be there in a heartbeat if I asked, but knowing her she'll tell me I'm not laboring right and to try it her way or something lol. None of my friends hang out with me now that I'm pregnant, they haven't even seen me with a bump before so I doubt they'll show up or even dare to be in the room with me.

What are everyone else's plans?

i havent really thouqht abt it. but now tht u mention it... hmmm.. i know for sure my OH , and my mom and my qrandma. My OH's mom miqht be there too since we are close. How many ppl are allowed in the room anyway ? lol

Well, my OH was with me ofcourse - and his mum. When I fell pregnant I didnt want anyone but OH in there but me and his mum get on well and she is so good to us and she's a friend really. My mum wanted to be there but I wasnt up for that. We're not that close.

I have little to no friends. I have a 'bezzer' who I havent seen since Christmas (tbf, I moved 60 miles away so its my fault). I have 1 friend in this city and he's always busy. I have a few old friends who chat to me on Facebook. My OH and his friends/family and then online friends. I'm a saddo.

Pregnancy/motherhood is lonely isnt it.

I am having my OH and my mum. They are both keen on being there, at firdt it was just going to be OH but my mum asked so of course I said yes! Then my sister, dad etc will be in the waiting room.

awww =/ preqnancy is kinda lonely; but feelinq him kick and move makes me realize tht im not alone. Hopefully everythinq will be ok for you hun

Well I only want my OH and mother in the room with me. I don't feel comfortable with anyone else in the room! I am close to my OH's mom but I just dont want anyone other than my mother and OH looking at my lady bits!

I was debating having a friend, but I'm really glad it was just my mom.
( is odd I always start to tear up with i think of him being born cause it was the best day of my life? )

I feel like this too. When I get really down and lonely, I'll feel her kick and move and it makes me feel like I'm not so alone. =]

Cheers. bnb makes me feel a little more sane. Until you're a parent or atleast pregnant, you have no idea. I need some mummy friends really. xxx

I would tear up thinking about it for the first few weeks. I dont now because I dont want to look like a wuss infront of my OH. I bawled like a baby when she was born and my OH cried too, but we dont talk about it. I'm not usually typically girly. No it isn't odd it's wonderful.

I think I will always cry thinking about it
my poor son, I will all over the place telling him his birth story
hes gonna have hard time bringing girlfriends over

I can have 4 people in the room while in labor so it will probably be my mom, OH, his mom, and a rotation of my dad and my friend (baby's godmama), then while birthing i can have two people in there so it will be my mom and OH.

I'm just having my mom in there while I'm actually delivering. I'm allowed to have as many people as comfortable coming in/out of the room while I'm just in the labor stage though. So I think it'll be my mom, grandmom, dad (if he can handle it ), and my aunt.

When I'm laboring it'll probably be an array of my friends and family in and out of the room. But for the actual birth my best-friend is going to be the only one there, my mum wants to be there but we're not close and I'm not very comfortable with her being there.

During my labour as it could be long, i'd be willing to have OH, my mum and OH's Mum. When i get closer to giving birth, and while i am delivering. It will be just my OH there x

sorry i'm over here but i was a teen mum lol for my oldest who is now almost 10 i had my mum my two cousins and sisters lmao that was for labouring and birthing for my 5 and 4 yr old i had my mum only but for my youngest i was suppose to have my mum my oh and my sister but wee jack decided to come early so it was just me and my oh i recommend that its just ur oh as its a special moment for you both u just brought in the precious gift ever and nothing will replace the moment you first lay your eyes on him/her.

i still get teary today thinking about all my babies births they brought the best out on me and i wouldnt change anything for having them!!

I'm only having OH. I don't want anyone else in there. Everyone keeps pressuring me to have my nan in there with me, but I don't want her there.

My mum will be coming to the hospital, assuming she can there in time (she lives near north wales, I live in South) but she won't be in the room either, just waiting outside.

For me and OH its a really special time that we don't wanna share with anyone else iykwim
