Who is brave enough to tell me about the quality of menstral blood and what it means!

Can you rephrase? I am confused about what you're asking?

Sorry! I am wondering about different consistencies and colours how they may relate to potential problems with hormones . ie sorry tmi, but sometimes my whole af can look very pale/dull pinkish, and be rather light, whereas when I was younger (and somtimes now) it was always bright and heavy.
thanks :)

Ah! I got ya :) Well, for me.. I'm a different breed because I have endometriosis... it's SUPER heavy and dark red CD 1 and 2. Cramps that would send most people to the hospital! Luckily, it's only 2 days. I've been temping for nearly 4 months and my hormones appear to be quite balanced ie. a clear distinction between my follicular and luteal phases. Don't know if that's the right answer?

Thats a big help actually. Thank you! I always have a 15 day lp, and confirm ovulation temps opks and cm, so it really does have me stumped how quality and quantity can change with af each month. Very strange.

I, like Cestamy, have endo, so my periods are super heavy (like super tampon every 30-60 minutes during the worst days) and lots of clotting. Very dark, very heavy, very crampy. Even without endo, I thought menstrual blood was dark, but IDK! Have you mentioned this to your OB/GYN? It could mean your endometerial lining is too thin, or it could mean nothing! If you don't mind me asking, how old are you? It could be early menopause symptoms, so I'd definitely talk to your doc so you don't miss out on your fertility window. I do NOT mean to freak you out; I only mentioned it because you said your periods used to be darker and heavier. HTH!! :)

Thank you for answering. I am 25- so I hope it wouldn't be the start of menopause! I was starting to think when I was younger, I mean like 15-16-17-18 I had the worst periods with pain that no pain killers would help, and I would have a good 5 days of heavy bleeding, maybe what I considered normal wasn't normal at all? I remember having to have at least a few days off school a month it was that bad.

I am hoping it's just a regulating thing, I had very off cycles for a year or so which my doc put down to anxiety- basically I was overrun by stress hormones. So for the last 7 months or so I have been completely regular- but the blood seems very dull.

I would love to have an idea of what is going on.
