Who puts your older kids to bed with a newborn.

I feel for you. When i had my second i had always laid with my oldest until he went to sleep. So when my second came along i tried laying with my oldest whilst youngest was either napping or laid in crib with mobile on. It was a nightmare. Id have to run between the two. So i had to get tougher. My oldest now goes to sleep on his own. I cant even remember how this started. I think i just stayed upstairs reassuring him that i was just in m room doing some jobs and would come soon and he would just fall asleep. Now im due my third and my youngest has me lay with him. Thankfully he goes to sleep very quick when tired enough. Takes about 15 minutes. Which i am glad for as his brother sometimes took 2 hours! I have to do it all myself as my partner works late. But actually it works quicker if i just stick to our routine myself. I am hoping with my third that i can either lay with my 2nd whilst he goes to sleep and she naps or i can bring her in the room. He is very chilled out about sleeping with distractions if he understands its time for bed. Im not sure about him sleeping alone uet as hes not as good at communicating as his brother was so i never know if hes understanding plus in our new place the two boys will have to share a room and mo chance will either go to sleep together
