So Lily is now 6 months, and I know all books etc say you can stop steralising at 6 months.
But just wondering how many of you ladies stopped at this age? I know there are some who only stopped at 1 year old, and others who have never sterilised from birth.
OH keeps saying we can stop now as yes it is more work having to keep steralising them but I'm still not sure.

So just wanted to know if alot of you stopped at 6 months? :flower:!

I've stopped sterilising some of the time. I still make some bottles ahead of time, so I always sterilise those, but anything I'm making from scratch when needed doesn't get sterilised.

I still sterize my LO bottles and shes just gone 6 months :] x

I thought the books said to sterilise until 1 year, have never read to stop at 6 months except for on here.

I stopped at 6 months on 2 mine. The 1 i stopped at 9 months i think, but only cause of where i was living, the state the house was in and my lo being so small.

I still sterilize and Kane is 10 months, its just part of my routine now lol. OH keeps saying we can stop but I would prefer to keep doing it... I will stop when he turns 12months or so

Ohh right, I have a book called baby bible which says you can always stop steralising at 6 months as babies are putting toys in their mouth with germs all over. Oh well I'm sure afew books say different things.

I'm not sure what to do now, I know there's a couple of ladies on here who never have sterilised since birth and LOs have been fine. Hmm I can't decide! Think I'll probably carry on! Thanks ladies :flower:

What i started to do when i stopped sterilising was to keep sterilising bottles but not the things i used for weaning. Dishes spoons and things, then after a couple of days, things being ok i stopped altogether. Maybe you could try that and see how you get on.

I'm a bit torn about the whole thing really. I think I will probably sterilise anything that comes in contact with formula for as long as I use it but really can't see the point of sterilising weaning bowls, spoons etc - just washing them well in hot, soppy water seems fine. Whereas with powdered formula I worry bits of undissolved formula could get stuck in various bits of the bottle (I use dr browns) and might be hard to get at with just soap and water. Will see when the time comes I guess!

I'll carry on with the bottles until LO is 1 but i dont do bowls and spoons
