Oh yikes! I hope you don't get that!
I'm not planning on it. I'd really like to have everything as natural as possible, but I'll definitely take IV drugs if I feel I need them. My mom had me without any medication, so I know it's possible! Epidurals freak me out because I hate even having my foot fall asleep...I can't imagine my entire waist down being numb! My aunt also had a nightmare epidural with her youngest (it didn't work, at all, and she got those miserable headaches) plus at my hospital and all the surrounding ones here they make you wait until you get feeling back until you can push so they can make sure something isn't going wrong.
My plan is to ask that an epidural be available, but I don't want any nurse/midwife/OH/my mother to mention it while I'm in labor. I don't want to think about it being available! I have a labor tub booked too, and it takes longer for them to give an epidural then (and you have to get up, get dried, etc) so I'm hoping that makes me second guess getting one too, since it would take so much effort!
