Don't have clue if it is related but I have only ever combined bf'ing with formula and then after a couple of weeks just used formula,
This time I am exclusively bf'ing and love every minute of it and so does my baby (18 days old)

My only question is I can't get enough fluids in my body I am constantly having to drink it's ridiculous but then I don't have to go to the bathroom any more often than normal, and if I don't have a drink for about half hour I feel like ive gone days without fluids.
Is this anything to do with breastfeeding??

Me! My baby is a week today and in one session I can easily drink a litre or more. I make sure my 'station' has two or three bottles waiting & cam drink a 500ml bottle like I was going to the Sahara. I am peeing a wee bit more but you need all the fluids for milk supply & also baby is taking plenty, input = output.

I noticed too while I'm thirsty my skin dries slightly I'm like a bloody live walking prune lol. I suppose drinking a load of water is good for us. I took 2 bottles of water to bed with me lastnight and dh has just got up for work and gave me a funny look when he picked up his empty bottle as I drank that too when I was up nursing baby haha oppps

when my letdown triggers my throat goes instantly dry! It is the craziest thing.

It's normal to be more hungry and thirsty while breastfeeding.

It's not as much hungry with me eating same as normal just can't quench my Thirst no matter how much I drink

Very normal. I was constantly needing water! I found keeping a bottle by my bed at night helped a bit.

It's just like if you sweated loads during a workout (not that I would know ) - you would likely need a drink to replace what you had lost. Fluid goes out, so you need to put some back in!

Interesting reading other ladies' experiences. I don't get hugely thirsty, but the moment just before letdown makes me feel incredibly and fleetingly nauseous!

I feel you with this nausea, I started getting this couple days ago, I feel really sickly and slightly light headed just before let down

Weird isn't it! I didn't notice it at first, but then it started and still happens now, 15 months in ... I can be starving hungry and it will totally kill my appetite!

Omg I was hoping it would pass in couple weeks ur still getting it at 15 month :-o

Afraid so lol, but it doesn't mean it will be the same for you hopefully!

Haha well you're not alone there. Take a seat in my Complicated Life Club. ;)
