Why did she grab my boob?

If he is a bit jaundice, get some sunlight on him. Strip him down, and head out side if it is warm enough, do about 5 minutes on his front and his back, and it will clear up quickly.

Seen the doctor today for his baby check up and he said he's fine, no jaundice? He doesn't look yellow to me or OH either so I dunno?

Oh good. I think some HVs see problems where there are none!

The midwife came round yesterday to check on Halen and I mentioned that he seemed to find it hard to stay latched on (he's doing fine now, think he just found it a bit hard to get the hang of it)

She grabbed my boob and tried to force my nipple into his mouth? Didn't ask, just grabbed, I didn't really know what to do and just sat there a bit gob smacked.

He screamed and wouldn't go anywhere near my boob, then when she finally let go and gave up, he went sleep.

He had fed for 14 mins half hour before so wasn't hungry anyway, but why on earth did she feel the need to do this??

I don't really know what to say if the next midwife who is coming today does this as well??

flashback! I had a visiting nurse do the same 11 years ago :dohh::dohh::dohh:

When in hospital some MWs were very respectful and even apologised for being hands on but they wanted to help. But there was one in particular who was very aggressive and rude. Jack was crying and she charged on with trying to get him latched onto me and stop him crying but her being in both our personal space and being so rough just made him scream. She then proceeded to tell me I needed nipple shields as my right nipple was flat. The other MWs disagreed.

I didn't have it in me to complain as I was very depressed and had gotten used to being physically manhandled since transferring from my home birth. That doesn't make it right, obviously, if anything it is worse.

I would have complained later when I regained my sense of self, but she never gave me her name :/
