Why do girls get BFP b4 or on date of missed AF; others so long after?

Some girls on here POAS a few days b4 they’ve even missed their AF and get a BFP (eg. Merv’s Mum, hope u don’t mind me using you as an example hon!) and yet others miss their AF and get loadsa BFNs before their BFP?

I know it’s to do with hormones but surely hormones start surging as soon as implantation occurs, which is b4 AF?!

Urmmm, not that I POAS this morning or anything. O no, I wouldn’t do THAT!

I dont mind. :winkwink:

I think everyone's HCG must climb at different rates and I wonder if the actual date of O makes a difference? I think I O'd earlier than I was predicted to so implantation will have happened sooner and so on. My sisters HCG levels stayed pretty low all the way though her early pregnancy and everything was totally normal. My friend 'knew' she was (all the signs were there) but was almost 2 weeks after AF was due before getting a BFP - again she wne ton to have a totally normal 9 months. Strange isn't it......

I got a faint BFP a week after I missed AF, I have no morning sickness, just queeziness every now and then, so I guess my HCG levels aren´t that high. When I got pregnant with DS I got a faint positive the day AF was due and had no morning sickness then either!! :dohh:

Yeh I agree with Merv Mum, everyones must be diff, and might depend on day of ovulation
x

OK, so the BFN this morning and the fact that I don't FEEL PG doesn't rule out me being PG (no AF yet, usually spot by now judging by past 4 months). x

No - you are deffo still in it! I still dont really feel preg and I certainly didnt the day I got my bfp.
I'm sending you loads of :dust: and preggy vibes....
xx

I agree, it probably has a lot to do with the HCG hormone levels, and that they increase differently in different women. I got my BFP 5 days late, but I had a very short period, only 24 days a month--not sure if that was part of the reason it took so long or not.

Good luck! I hope the :witch: stays away.

I agree, I would think it would have to do with hormone levels and when you 'O' as well.

I think the hormone levels can be detected as early as 10DPO. For people with short cycles that O later I would think their BFP would not so up until after AF arrived. Just a guess since everyone's LP is a different length. Mine is 17DPO so I would think my BFP (if I ever get one!) would be detected bfore AF arrives.

good question i always wonder about it and never figure it out either !!!
since i have a 26 days cycle i think i will probably get a BFP after my AF are due i guess ...

Ovulation time, when bean attatches, and how quickly your HcG progresses.

Thanks gals. Well, still no AF so gonna try my CB Digital 2mo am (Sunday). I have a 28-day cycle so if I am PG (I hooooooooooooooope!) then that might explain why Tesco one didn't pick it up. Or I might just have a late period, which I don't usually get, usually comes earlier if anything. Wish me luck! x

implantation usually occurs about 10-14 days after OV....but you can OV later in your cycle than smack bang in the middle, so if you have 28 day cycles and don't OV til day 21 can and does happen) the soonest you'd get a BFP is day 31....but the hormone also has to build itself up, - it doubles every 3 days, and some tests wont detect it til 25mlu (5mlu is a BFP btw) and some even 50mlu....so some people won't get a BFP til 6 weeks PG.

good luck tomo...mynxie is right . my cycle usually 28days and i think i ov today so if i do get preg fingers crossed then i dont think id get a bfp till i was a couple days late fingers crossed for all of us xxx

I've heard some gals are early implanters and some are later implanters - I bet there's some sort of correlation between luteal phase length and implantation time. Did that make sense!?
