Does it ever end? Never fails. Gagging every time. This morning I actually vomited in the sink :nope: why does toothpaste do that? I feel so gross now :( anyone else? I thought I was passed the vomiting phase...

I have weeks where I still vomit pretty frequently. My gag reflex is to blame sometimes, but overall, it's AFTERTASTE. I can't' fucking stand the weird after-tastes I get in my mouth, especially after eating, makes me so nauseous.

Also have had several episodes of spontaneous vomiting...like just chilling, talking to someone, then a wave of nausea, and then puke.

I'm still having the same problem, so I feel your pain! I'm still gagging every time I brush and though I haven't actually vomited yet, I probably will one of these days. I think I'm just going to have suffer through with it for the next 15 or so weeks :(

Fingers crossed that it stops for you soon though!!!

Not vomitted yet but gagging every time I brush. Didn't have that with my twin pregnancy at all... Also - last time my nausea went at just over 13 weeks and now I still feel so sick every day! Hope it stops soon for you, and me as well!

Me too. Try brushing your teeth with warm water. Kind of neutralizes the too strong toothpaste taste.

I'm the same and end up vomiting sometimes or seriously gagging trying to prevent it an get a belly ache from it. Warm water don't help me. I brush when my stomach is empty to help with vomiting but other than that i have to be as fast as I can.

Yep I'm sick every morning when I brush my teeth...and then because ive been sick I wonder if I should brush my teeth again but no I will be sick again!!

Would a diff flavor toothpaste help? I just do it super quick...I still gag but it's not horrible

As for vomiting though I do still have weeks where I feel like I'm in 1st tri again, and then weeks I don't even feel pregnant.

It's just ridiculous! And now my stomach is upset because of vomiting :( I don't get nauseous anymore but every time I brush my teeth I gag. Don't even get me started on aftertastes

I'm still suffering from teeth brushing, I just can't cope with toothpaste at all otherwise my gag reflex kicks in or I'm actually sick. Only started being able to use mouthwash again at 16 weeks, was just chewing on sugar-free chewing gum after meals before then.

I got so sick whenever anything except food was in my.mouth when I was pregnant!

I had this right up to 16 weeks and then after that it would be now and again, I wish I could give you some advice but I don't have any but hope it goes away soon as I know it can be horrible

I vomited every time o brushed my teeth from week 5 until the date my son was born. This pregnancy it seems to be the same so far. I have no clue why? Its not even when I'm brushing my tongue and gagging or anything. Just as soon as I start brushing I start heaving. Haha.

Aww poor you :(

I remember your thread on MS from first tri. Have you tried changing toothpaste brand? Maybe giving something else a go might help?

I have six different toothpastes in my drawer and the one that makes me gag the least has a cinnamon taste, and not mint. Although I don't feel like it's cleaning as well and I'm strange about my teeth so I only use it after lunch. I have found that when I'm brushing my tongue if I look in the mirror at what I'm doing then I gag a *little* less, but the gagging continues.

I've had the same issue, I've found switching to a kids fruit toothpaste with high fluoride helps as does only using a little and spitting it out often.

I feel your pain. Brushing my teeth became the worst part of my day because invariably I would gag and throw up nearly every time.

I tried changing toothpaste brands and flavours but it didn't make any difference. I tried using very little toothpaste, as well as children's toothpaste, and I was still having difficulties. Eventually I gave up and decided that since I was going to be throwing up anyway, then at least I would minimise the discomfort. Now I always drink a glass of water a few minutes before brushing my teeth. This way if I am going to throw up, most of what comes back up is water (with only a little bit of bile/stomach acid) and is thus much less uncomfortable. It's still a nuisance but at least it's not as annoying if you're mostly throwing up water.

Thankfully, I now only throw up while brushing my teeth every few days... so maybe you will find relief soon. Good luck!
